Any law enforcement official who has a moral conflict enforcing the law should resign if he can't carry out
his oath to UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION.

Then every president since Kennedy who has sent OUR troops into undeclared wars should have resigned or been impeached.

YUP! and it's the US Supreme Court's job to define exactly what is meant in the US Constitution... If a
sheriff has any doubt to the meaning of a particular law, his responsibility is to contact the state attorney
general for a clear definition.  Then... HIS RESPONSIBILITY IS TO ENFORCE THE LAWS... not interpret them.

Any law enforcement official who has a moral conflict enforcing the law should resign if he can't carry out
his oath to UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION.

they THINK might have been broken...but remember,,,innocent until proven guilty...sure the weight is on the prosecution
to prove guilt, but in the meantime, your life is an F'EN mess because some officer THINKS you broke a law.

seat belt law...obscure personal choice that became a $$ maker for government and to give perception of 'caring' by
government/police/insurance companies

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Maybe law enforcement knows the dangers and the backlash enforcing these laws would bring.

Maybe they do... or they think they do... but lawmaking or interpreting the law is not their responsibility.
If they feel they have some expert knowledge on the issue, they should make that information known
to the attorney general for his consideration.  Other than that... enforce the law or get out of the way.

The real issue here is RIGHT WING OATHKEEPERS, trying to push their radical agenda on the rest of
America... (TeaBaggers with badges)... it's a political agenda, not a law enforcement issue.

Nope the issue is the Constitution and the left wing oathbreakers who could give a dam about liberty, freedom and LIFE.

http://www.cbs6albany.com/news/top-stories/stories/warren-gun-control-6586.shtml

A judge is ordering Governor Cuomo and the state to explain in court why the New York Safe Act was rushed through. The 'Safe Act' bans military style, semi-automatic rifles... increases background checks... and limits how many bullets gun owners can have in a magazine. Critics call it unconstitutional. As Craig Smith explains, the state faces claims that the way it came up for a vote broke the law as well.

Same orders given to the Nazi Gestapo when taking guns from the Jews.  Why am I not surprised box believes that you must enforce laws at all cost?

Like I've said before, he would have called those operating the underground railroad as radical oath keepers anti-government subvertertionaries.

That's the progressive way, as Pelosi said "we have to pass the law so we can see what's in the law".

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

You're right... and it should be applied to every law ...including the illegal immigration laws States have recently passed.

YUP!  If a state law is found to be constitutional, then both state and federal law enforcement should
enforce the laws.
Laws like Citizens United, which IMO are flawed, should be enforced until such time that the legislature
can amend or change those law.

Federal Legislative Branch
The legislative branch is the law making branch of government made up of the Senate, the House of Representatives, and agencies that support Congress.
