Adam Lanza fits your description. HE knew how to use it.
He knew how to drive a car to, only if the mother hid the car keys from him he wouldn't of been able to get to that school, I blame the car not the person

last thing I want is to know I may have prevented the accident that killed or injured a family member.
My trigger lock is keyed and gun in nightstand.
I can grab gun and unlock in less than 30secs. If that isn't fast enough, then I didn't hear the the intruder early enough!
If that is what you think is best for you then I'm glad for you, although that may not be best for everyone. No situation is the same and nobody should try to treat them as such.

Buy a noisy dog... buy a burglar alarm... buy motion detectors... buy intrusion devices... hire private security... or just get used to paranoia. I sleep well at night and seldom even think of a home invasion. I know that it can happen, but I also live on the flyway from the hospital to the medivac airport... one of those life flights could crash into my home any night... or I could get hit by lightning... or hit by a bus... or... or ... or I could get bit by a giant spider or or maybe I could be abducted by little green men... Pretty sad huh!

Not imposing my way on you or anyone else...just expressing my thoughts and my position. Like you said....just because it may be the right thing to do, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do for everyone. There are always exceptions. I hope no one regrets the exceptions.
I live alone and know my way around firearms (I just opened myself up to the ridicule on that comment, I'm sure). But knowing all that, I still choose to use locks. There is another point....with locks on your weapons, should someone break in when no one is home and steal your guns, it will be more difficult for them to use them or sell them with locks that are pick proof.....again, not going to guarantee prevention, but may offer some level of prevention.
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!
Let me preface this post - IT IS ONLY A TONGUE AND CHEEK JOKE
Live alone (NOT VERIFIED ONLY GIVEN AS HYPERBOLE) - Check PROUD War Veteran - Check EXPERIENCED WITH Firearms - Check
Do not utter one word criticizing the Federal Government, Box is apt to alert the Department of Homeland Security of a suspected domestic terrorist.
Let me preface this with this is not tongue in cheek: COMING FROM CICERO IT HAS LESS VALUE THAN COMING FROM DVOR I EXPECT CICERO TO TAKE ANYTHING SAID WITH SIMPLE INTENT AND PLAY HIS SANDBOX GAMES WITH IT

Awwwww...Poor baby...
One thing I can say about your posts, with your frequent displays of rage and instability, I may be coming around to supporting Cuomo in getting guns out of the hands of the mentally disturbed.

Then please turn your weapons in now so we don't have to waste taxpayer money coming to take them away from you. Seems like you are the thin skinned cry-baby who doesn't like it when a dose of his own medicine is thrown back!

no war vet should be allowed to own a firearm...the government just can't implicitly prove that there is no PTSD or other left over issues.
FACT:
Quoted Text
Post-traumatic stress disorder is a type of anxiety disorder. It can occur after you've seen or experienced a traumatic event that involved the threat of injury or death. Causes, incidence, and risk factors
PTSD can occur at any age. It can follow a natural disaster such as a flood or fire, or events such as: •Assault •Domestic abuse •Prison stay •Rape •Terrorism •War
For example, the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 may have caused PTSD in some people who were involved, in people who saw the disaster, and in people who lost relatives and friends.
Veterans returning home from a war often have PTSD.
The cause of PTSD is unknown. Psychological, genetic, physical, and social factors are involved. PTSD changes the body's response to stress. It affects the stress hormones and chemicals that carry information between the nerves (neurotransmitters).
It is not known why traumatic events cause PTSD in some people but not others. Having a history of trauma may increase your risk for getting PTSD after a recent traumatic event.
So what have you experienced that may harbor a future explosion of PTSD in you? Where are your weapons, because according to your theory, you shouldn't own any!

You got it backwards Senders... Every one who enters the military is evaluated for mental stability... civilians on the other hand... are not. Those who are found to have mental illness issues are not allowed to enlist, or weeded out early in the process and return to the civilian group... which concentrates the mentally ill among the civilians.
Those who put their time in serving their country have proven themselves to be stable and able to meet at least basic requirements to work in a large group... learn responsibility and to be self sufficient.
The vast majority of the 9 million US Vietnam era veterans have no issues from that war. Unlike their civilian counterparts, many of whom spent their 'Vietnam years, in a drug induced stupor leaving them mentally burned out and useless.
You can find very stable and very mentally ill in both groups... The military group has been evaluated and the mentally ill eliminated into the civilian group. Glad I'm in the more sane group!

That's a funny argument box. The vast majority of people that own AR 15's don't go on shooting sprees, yet you want to take them from EVERYBODY. We now have two vets off their rockers killing people, I thinks it would be Box logic to ban guns for all veteran. They are just too dangerous. We can't take the chance, it's for the kids. Unless of course you hate kids.
