I like the line "you want my guns, I'll give you the bullets first"
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
The Governor of New York is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks the governor's dog, then bites the governor.
1. The governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie "Bambi" and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural.
2. He calls animal control. Animal control captures the coyote and bills the state $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it.
3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the state $200 testing it for diseases.
4. The governor goes to a hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged.
5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of dangerous animals.
6. The governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a "coyote awareness program" for residents of the area.
7. The state Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.
8. The governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack. The state spends $150,000 to hire and train a new agent with additional special training re: the nature of coyotes.
9. PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files a $5 million suit gainst the state.
ARIZONA
The governor of Arizona is jogging with her dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks her dog.
1. The governor shoots the coyote with her state-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge.
2. The buzzards eat the dead coyote.
... And that, my friends, is a good example of why New York is broke and Arizona is not. In God We Trust!
AGREE....was driving down south and really read the road signs...
South----"if you get into a traffic accident or break down, please push vehicle off the road"
NY-----"if you get into a traffic accident or break down, give the other guy the finger, DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING AT THE SCENE, continue swearing at the other guy, wait for the police, yell at the other guy again and everyone rubber necking at the incident, call your insurance agent, yell at the family in the car waiting for the tow truck, call a lawyer, remove from vehicle all evidence of fast food wrappers.
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS

Again... L4Life feels the need to offer my opinion for me. He/she sounds like a very insecure person.
The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness. John Kenneth Galbraith
L4Life's childish posts remind me of a Maggy Thatcher quote:
