Who owned the building?
Is it tax delinquent? If so, no one would by it? (It's an apartment building people)
What is the code citation history?
Did the city not know this was in danger (of course, not, McC and co are only concerned with downtown buildings!)
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
Actually, this is the same street as one of my favorite code violation homes at 544 Schenectady Street. Anyone know how to post a picture of the home from google maps street view?

The bought it for $100 from Schenectady in October 2007. Its a 7,800 square foot apartment building and is assessed at $27,200. Funny thing is that the larger portion of the building that looks like a church is 535 Scheenctady Street and it is assessed at a whopping $405,000 just to fluff up the tax base since it is wholly exempt.

It is a renaissance dream like the rest of the city
