Actually - there are quite a few pedestrians on Erie Blvd during daylight hours -- and once this project is complete and more businesses and new projects quickly follow (which they will), there will be even more pedestrians on Erie Blvd.
Think positive -- it will help lower your blood pressure and you might live longer.
The only businesses that followed on State Street were the ones getting massive tax breaks and facade grants. That's just not working - it is not resulting in improvements in jobs (to any substantial number) nor lowering the tax base for homeowners. Plus the money is running out. I'd love for the area to look nicer but I really fail to see how making it prettier is going to improve the property tax situation. It's just not working with the 2 block area of lower State Street. |

Think "DUH!!!!" What is the ROI? Where is the value add? What are the taxpayers getting in return for the use of their money? Very easy for you to make these nice pom-pom waving statements becuase they have no substance.......only financial justification can soothe the souls of those that couldn't afford this to begin with. You are without a doubt the SADDEST representation for the taxpaying public.....a great example of political ineptness and lack of qualification!!! No wonder you can't make it in the private sector!!!! |

I would like to see the return on investment for every dollar given to the metroplex. I already know the return on the Proctor's investment, negative $50 million and no chance of ever getting a single cent in taxes from them or all the other properties they are grabbing up to use as fund raising centers. Tax exempt status also comes along with all that they buy. |

People thought positive 10 years ago, now tell us DV, what do you think happens to their blood pressure when they see their tax bill? What happens to their blood pressure when they look out in the street to find that the snow that was not pushed back to the curb which softed has turned to sold hard ice and they can't get their car out without damage. Do you think that seeing a pretty sight lowers their blood pressure when their car is damaged from the terrible road surface on the other end? Tell us what happens to the blood pressure when someone puts their house up for sale they can't sell it after a year and the asking price is 30% below what is still owed on the mortgage? Come on DV, can you address these issues? Of course you can think positive, you have not a financial care in the world, everything is handed to you on a silver platter. You don't pay a mortgage, you don't have to pay rent, you don't have a Nat Grid bill in your name, you never have to worry about replacing a roof or a furnace, you never have to worry about a landlord increasing your rent, you never have to make a choice between paying a medical bill or paying your rent, you never have to worry about losing your home to inability to pay taxes, you never have to worry about having a job transfer and trying to figure out how your going to pay for rent/mortgage when you are trying to pay the mortgage on a house that not selling because the house is in Schenectady city and NO ONE wants to buy a house IN the city. And since you do NOT have bills to pay, you do NOT have to worry about getting a job, you can play on the computer in the middle of the night, having memberships in sites like this site below (Do the two mums know?) |

Pamela massage? If you scroll down there is a picture of one girl standing next to multi colored weights. She's a famous porn video star from way back, known as wifey. Her pictures come up as the first results in a google image search. Um, I didn't actually remember her, um, this guy, um mentioned it that was here, while I was reading your post. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking with it. |

I intentionally cut the major part of the website's photo off for obvious reasons, even thought it wasn't x rated, but, just being respectful to any who might be offended. But yeah, the cheerleader is a member. |

The next big announcement to look forward to is the unveiling of plans for the new Amtrak station in Schenectady. |

Well, with the City only getting $11 million from the County sales tax (hasn't changed since 1995), I'm sure there's a little padding in the County pockets. Not enough to cover the $50 million nursing home Albatross...but enough to try and cover the many other flops they've invested into. The old, still empty Trustco building on Erie comes to mind. At least the looters and drug addicts will have better lighting to break into that building now. |

Personally, I would like to see the new railroad station built west of State Street along either Broadway or Erie Blvd. The new station is coming -- so are the double tracks between Schenectady and Albany. The whining of the nayboobs can't stop Schenectady's Renaissance. |
