I found these photos that show the finished plans. They will have 3 rows of lights, one on each side and one set down the middle.

Click on the images to make them full size

3 rows up to State
2 rows starting at intersection with State
then they must run out of enough money because there is only 1 row on 1 side starting at Liberty

The new lighting is great -- it shines light on the sidewalk and the roadway which is something the old lighting did NOT do.  Furthermore, it is not that sickish yellow light like the old lighting.  All in all - the corridor is looking great.  I can't wait to see the completely finished product.

Now explain WHY the lighting was indeed adequate on both sidewalk AND street.

And explain WHY the people who pay THE HIGHEST TAXES in the country MUST pay for damages to their cars from the poorly maintained pavement.   Can you answer that?

He must have called McC to say "please give me an answer to give them" because you of course no nothing about the costs and don't care since you are not a taxpayer

By the way, DV, have you found even one teeny weeny shred of EVIDENCE to support your statement that county taxes are lower than 50 years ago?

Huh?    Have you any proof of that yet?

Huh?     Can't answer that can you because it's a lie.   Are you ready to admit you made that statement only as a copy an paste from campaign propaganda?   Well?

You don't even have the guts to go to anyone at the county level to ask them to write an explanation for you to post, and of course NO ONE at the county level could do it either because IT IS NOT TRUE!!!!!

So, how's the tax base in the city?   Huh?????    Is it increaseing because of all the development?
Any EVIDENCE of home values increasing?
Any EVIDENCE of taxes going down?
Any EVIDENCE of the return of essential city services that have been cut to the taxpayers so that Philip Morris can avoid paying taxes?

Well?

And people, by the way, when the so called fancy, "old style" lamp posts are used, they are lower to eye level which causes a glare at you when you are looking straight

The previous lighting was high up and aimed down at the pavement, it was not aimed at peoples' eyes.

What people? There are no pedestrians on Erie Blvd. Even the salt shed has left Erie. The worst part is the condition of the pavement between Union and Nott that is what needs resurfacing.

Put away your pom-poms and look at what has been done/planned to be done; the cost of all being done; and what the ROI is...then come back here and explain how and why the project was a good idea vs. other repairs, etc., that could have been done for a huge amount less money.  Compare the two and then present some facts for us to evaluate.  Spedning this amount of money for "cosmetic" reasons is an absurd abuse of taxpayer money, unless ROI dictates positive cash flow in minimal time that will result in increased revenues after recovery of expenditures! If all figures lead to $XX=$XX or $XX = -$XX, then someone should get fired and taxpayer money was just pi$$ed away for a "pretty" road!

Oh joe, you explained it so very well.

But we ALL know that DV will NOT address those FACTS.

He has NOT ONCE posted on ANY thread on these boards to explain the ROI on ANYTHING that has been done by the dems in downtown OR to a lesser extent anywhere else in the city.

We ask him what has happened to the tax base in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the homeowners tax bills in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the home values in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the desirability to buy a home  in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the sales prices (of the few houses that have sold) in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the numbers of houses being put up for sale in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the numbers of houses that are EMPTY of furniture during open houses in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the poverty rate in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the crime rate in the city....he won't answer  (oh wait, he did say a while back that crime is doing down---"according to the FBI,")
We ask him to provide the EVIDENCE, i.e., the direct link to that alleged claim by the FBI about crime going down in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the the school system in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the teen pregnancy in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the FEES in the city....he won't answer
We ask him what has happened to the ESSENTIAL city services in the city....he won't answer
We ask him to provide the proof that the county taxes are lowest in 50 years....he won't answer

Why won't he answer?   Because his answers would be EVIDENCE of MASSIVE FAILURE in the city under the dem leadership.

So, he will NEVER answer or even address these comments/questions.   He will ONLY continue to spew NONSENSE BABBLE about a so called renaissance, but cannot provide ANY EVIDENCE, not one teeny weeny shred of EVIDENCE of a POSITIVE ROI!

Actually - there are quite a few pedestrians on Erie Blvd during daylight hours -- and once this project is complete and more businesses and new projects quickly follow (which they will), there will be even more pedestrians on Erie Blvd.

Think positive -- it will help lower your blood pressure and you might live longer.
