Say you were in a party of several people, out for the evening, and after the night's entertainment you decided to stop off for an adult beverage at a government gin mill. The posted closing time on the door says 2:00 a.m. There are a couple other small groups already inside, and it is around 1:00. Shortly after you are seated, last call is announced. A number of people order drinks, drinks are served, and within moments, the bouncer announces that you have five minutes before they kick you out. The bartender and waitress rather snottily confirm that yes, they just up and decided that they feel like closing NOW. Would you be annoyed? Is it even legal, to serve alcohol and then require patrons to either chug it or leave it? Myself, I can choose not to patronize a place that chooses to employ arrogant help, but in this instance, I'm supporting the place whether Iwant to or not. Is it worth it? You decide.

it's not up to them or a judge to decide what you do with your drink.....they got the money, you gave it.... don't go back.....

Henry, let's just say that the guy who got shot in the leg might've done it to himself so he would remember never to go back there.
mmontone1, I have noticed a recent trend that the bars are becoming a tad more popular - maybe people don't want to spend all the money on gas to go elsewhere? I have in the past noticed some places that were barely hanging on doing the annoying closing early because "it's dead in here" thing, and it is usually a sign that the place is on the way out, but why would a business with 12-15 customers still there encourage them to order drinks and then give them the bum's rush? What is the point of closing up a good 40 minutes before the time on the door? I wasn't one of the customers this happened to, I heard about it from two different very credible sources, but as someone who has a financial stake in downtown, I don't want to see arrogance and stupidity turning anyone off to Schenectady's nightlife when it is so fragile a comeback.

.
Yeah that's what I figured, I guess when you get freebies from the tax payers you can let the service slide a little
