Gun nuts everywhere & gun haters, this letter is for you. The AK-47, the consummate 'assault rifle' was conceived in the belly of the beast, communist Russia by Mr Kalnishov. The intent was to kill fascist (no different than communist) Nazi's invading the sacred soil of Mother Russia. The AK-47 was simple in design, stamped metal parts, easy to clean, easy to kill with. The AK-47 was the impetus for the AR-15, Americas defective counter measure & all others since. Many an AR-15, M16 or whatever number being assigned to it this week cost many an American his life in Vietnam. The AK-47's did the rest of the killing. The AK-47 is now devolving into updated models & the Russians will soon have a weapon as defective as ours. What goes around, comes around. An AK-47 was conceived by a Communist (Obama haters, here that) to kill Americans in future wars. Now we bring this junk into America & worship it as a symbol of our freedoms. WHAT FOOLS ARE WE. As a post WWII baby boomer I was brought up in the shadow of WWII. I knew the names of the battles, 'worshipped' my elders who served & emulated their actions as a kid. Even as a child I NEVER wanted to handle or own as WWII German or Japanese weapon. I consider these things dirty, They were used by evil people to kill millions & attack our great nation. Now we have men, NRA, 'gun nuts', hiding behind the right to bear arms so they may fondle these dirty things or their knock offs. Rather than launch an exhaustive debate, litigations, get everyone worked up, just give the junk up. Bring it to a collection center & melt it down. 'Leave no assault rifle behind'. Demonstrate some maturity & patriotism. As for those who wish to undermine the right to bear arms concept, you to have fallen into the commie trap.
