Grand Jury - a group of independent citizens looked at this and exonerated the officers.  You want to hold a seperate mock trial on this site, have at it.

Hey lawman, are you concerned about the court leaking deliberations of the Grand Jury to the press?  That's probably why Carney and Chaires declined comment.

Not to mention, the rest of the western world dissolved the Grand Jury system decades ago.

Quoted Text
SCHENECTADY
The panel, after reviewing evidence and video footage of the shooting of Luis Rivera, 33, in the city's Vale neighborhood, found earlier this week that Sgt. William Fennel and officers Kevin Rayball and Michael Wood acted appropriately, according to sources who requested anonymity because the grand jury vote had not yet been made public.

(iv) an operator of a recording device;

(vi) an attorney for the government; or

What was the quorum - 23, 18, 16?  Indictments are nearly impossible with a smaller Grand Jury.  It's tough to get 12 to indict out of a pool of 16.  But of course the public doesn't know how many made up the quorum.  We just get fed the "official" line and ask no more questions.  And the media willfully keeps the public ignorant to ALL the facts to protect the costumed thugs.

Man flees from cops, 14 shots fired, one man dead, 3 cops free.  American justice served.

"A Grand Jury would indict a ham sandwich"(if the DA so desired)

Cicero - If they were hiding something why allow Kevin Luibrand and Mr. Rivera's Mother to see the video?

Anything that failed to find to officers criminally culpable was an injustice, right?

I didn't say hiding anything.  I was pointing out that grand jury's can be manipulated by prosecutors.  Just pointing out that the story is incomplete.  Was the grand jury's decision unanimous?  What was the quorum?

BTW, what do you think about the jury leaking information?

How about when a cop orders you to drop the gun you, umm, DROP THE GUN.

Whether he had a permit to carry or if the deadly weapon was inoperable are irrelevant.

Really?  If a person doesn't follow a police order, police can use force including lethal force to make them comply?

The man was fleeing, he threw the gun, he was shot in the back.  The cops were cleared of charges by a grand jury.  That just means they didn't get 12 people to indict.  Was there 11 votes to indict?  We don't know.

Maybe he did throw the gun but it doesnt mean he didnt have another one.  The guy who shot up the mall the other day was also running because his gun jammed.  I am pro gun, just not going to throw the cops under the bus on this one.

14 shots were fired and 2 shots hit the victim so the police need more practice to improve accuracy. Victim fired 0 shots but you can't tell if a gun is operable or not by looking at it and there have been cases where people have been killed by threatening police with a toy look a like gun.
