Another Schenectady club has liquor license lifted
November 28, 2012 at 9:55 pm by Bill Dowd

SCHENECTADY — OK, who’s next?

Club XI, where two men were stabbed in a 3 a.m. Sunday brawl involving an estimated 100 patrons, has become the city’s third nightspot to have its liquor license suspended in recent months.

Four people have been arrested as a result of the brawl, but no one has yet been charged for the stabbings themselves.

The North Broadway establishment will have to wait at least 30 days to reapply to the State Liquor Authority to have its license reinstated. Currently under SLA suspension are Joe’s Bar on Fifth Avenue and Club 548 on Schenectady Street.

Mayor Gary McCarthy said in a statement, “I expect city businesses to operate in a responsible manner to ensure public safety.

“If they fail to do so, we will leverage all resources available to us to take the necessary steps to close the business. Today’s action by the New York State Liquor Authority is an example of that effort.”

Unless it's Clinton's Ditch where the cops are present regularly.
