it IS theatrical.....it's like Schenectady trying to wear the red ruby slippers and clicking it's heels together and repeating "I want to go home, I want to go home" "I want to get more $$, I want to get more $$"
as if the the repetition will make it so......

Maybe the draw of all the retail stores? No, there's Rudnicks and CVS...not the epicenter for Christmas shopping.
Maybe the family vibe of downtown? No, there's bars and a few places on Jay...but not much.
Maybe Proctors took some of it's millions and offered hot cocoa to visitors to the City? No, they have to pay $100K for a made-up finance position for Ismat.
Schenectady has to be one of the most anti-family cities around. A parade won't fix that. |

The largest parade in Schenectady, is the parade of people leaving town. |

It is a large parade. The theme is Exodus. You can see the banners (for sale signs) of the entrants waiting to join the line all over town. More every day. |

It's a joke. First it's a Christmas Parade-stupid. Stop changing the date to appease Fat Morris and his double Star idiots. The date was first changed to avoid a traffic snarl with a musical. Then this year a double whammy. The "crowd" was one deep by CVS. Everyone was on Union Street trying to get out of Dodge. |
