When I did have Verizon DSL, most of my connection problems resulted from the phone lines themselves and twice came from a squirrel that decided colored wires would make his/her nest look better.

The problem also might be a result of the repairs that are still going on down south from Sandy.

Have you tried reseting your router by shutting it off (for at least a min.) and turning it back on?....90% of the time that clears alot of stuff up.

Buck-yup tried restarting modem, checked for virus's, did diagnositcs etc. Finally was able to talk to a rep  I could understand and she understood me and  she said due to work on adding fibroptics in the area those with copper are and will see intermittent issues. So we talked about FIOs of course   but I had just recieved a letter last week from verizon that said I could get Fios on my phone at the same price I'm paying and FIOs internet at comparable or reduced rate. Well the lady had quoted a much higher rate and I told her about the letter. Put on hold and guess what, will be getting FIOS at the current rate I'm paying for phone and internet : )  She guaranteed main price will not go up unless I upgrade, so just emailed them to get that in writing. I understand that sometimes the fees go up on things like unpublished number etc. but want to make sure in writing that the basic rates will never change unless I make a change.
