A new Pew Research survey finds President Obama's approval rate at 52%, his highest since the
early months of his presidency. "His personal favorability, currently 59%, has rebounded from a
low of 50% in the fall campaign. And increasing percentages describe him as a strong leader,
able to get things done and as someone who stands up for his beliefs."

Meanwhile, the Republican Party's image, has fallen to a low of just 33%. Much of this decline has come
among Republicans themselves."

Luckily for us, we live in a Republic, have a Constitution, and a thing called states rights.  If we lived in a pure democracy, his might mean something.

A democratic republic is a country that is both a republic and a democracy. It is a state where ultimate authority and power is derived from the citizens. The United States was founded as a Republic, and has evolved to be Democratic Republic via amendment changes such as the 17th amendment. In 1789 only 6% of the US population could vote. In 1790, only white males could vote. It wasn't until 1856 when the final state of North Carolina removed land ownership as a requirement to vote. In 1869, male former slaves were granted citizenship and the right to vote with the 14th amendment, and bolstered with the 15th amendment in 1870. It wasnt' until 1920 that the 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. The United states was originally a representative republic in which democratic representation was not an original part of. The US is still a republic as it is impractical for everyone to vote on every issue, however the US has further evolved into a more representative democracy as a form of a republic nation. However in practice countries that describe themselves as democratic republics do not always hold free or fair elections. One example of this was the German Democratic Republic, a communist state commonly known as East Germany.[1] Another is the Democratic Republic of the Congo which in 2011 was rated by Freedom House as a "not free" country having a rating of 6.0 (1.0 being completely free and 7.0 being completely unfree).[2]

No, the Constitution is my friend.  Not some jerkoff writing for Wiki's interpretation.

Unless you are suggesting the 17th amendment which requires direct elections for Senators nullifies Article IV Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution.

U.S. Constitution
Article IV
Section 4
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

Yes, the Constitution suits my needs...yes, I am more comfortable with that(I know you are not).  Seeing how we are discussing the Republic and the Constitution, I figured that would suffice.  Sorry the Constitution isn't good enough for you.

•Rutherford B. Hayes who lost by 264,292 votes to Samuel J. Tilden in 1876
•Benjamin Harrison who lost by 95,713 votes to Grover Cleveland in 1888
•George W. Bush who lost by 543,816 votes to Al Gore in the 2000 election.

There you go again, speaking for someone else. Just like the other thread, you make it seem like I've said something and then you run in with whatever you want to say....damn you're good (NOT!). I'm still searching hard trying to see where I made any statements that you attribute to me, but like the other thread,......that's okay. Big man CIC needs to run his mouth and puff up his chest....glad I could help once again!

Another classic Joebxr cop-out.  He criticizes me for quoting the Constitution to support my argument(Don't like the WIKII definition, go search out the other ones that you are more comfortable with.
I'm sure you will find something to suit your needs)
then he runs away from his own words and claims I am speaking for him.

Do you own a gun Joebxr?  If this forum was submitted to the government for proof of competency to own a gun, you would be denied.

No, the issue remains as I stated:
"Yes, the Constitution suits my needs...yes, I am more comfortable with that(I know you are not)." SO YOU ARE SPEAKINBG FOR ME!
"Seeing how we are discussing the Republic and the Constitution, I figured that would suffice.  Sorry the Constitution isn't good enough for you." AGAIN, SPEAKING FOR ME!

Do I own a gun....do you?  How many and what type? If the Government were to test your mental stability they would not only deny you a weapons permit, but likely have you committed.  IF this forum were given to the Government, YOU are the one that would be in trouble.

PS - I don't run away from you or anyone or anything. I know when I'm dealing with someone that is mentally deficient, so I tread lightly so as not to cause you to up your meds and drool all over the furniture.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Hillary's going to have a fight on her hands in the Dem Primaries in '16... Cuomo for sure and probably others...including Biden for comic relief... The formula is there to unravel her, and Prince Andrew seems to be just the personality to do it.... grab some popcorn!

It should be fun, and with a lot more diversity than the '12 GOP fiasco.

Add possibles, Cory Booker & Martin O'Malley to the mix.

I agree, even someone "old and irrelevant" can beat the Republicans.
