SCHENECTADY– Police have arrested a young man in connection with the gang assault that left a city teen in a coma earlier this week. Schenectady resident Alexander Messina, 20, was arrested on Tuesday by the Schenectady Police Department's Youth Aid Bureau. The assault, which occurred on Sunday near the intersection of Congress Street and 6th Avenue, put a 14-year-old in critical condition after he was severely beaten with a blunt object and suffered a severe head injury, according to city police. The teen, a Schenectady resident, is being treated at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he was placed in a medically induced coma. Messina has been charged with assault and gang assault, in the first degree, both felonies. He was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors. Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/loca.....73.php#ixzz2CtqpoY1A |

| Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies. |
