A place where you can buy an old thrown away washing machine, or broken down refrigerator that was dug out of the garbage by a crooked, loud mouthed, toothless, crackhead appliance dealer out of a garage on upper State St.

it's where the only thing on late night tv is some homeless nut with a bag on his head, howling and slapping a guitar pretending that he's a rock star and yelling how he will torture all of the Stewarts employees who had just kicked him out of the store.

This is where practically all of the city employees are on the take and robbing the coffers. A place where the money has run out. A township that was left abandoned by the elected mayor and where the city council president assumed power also as mayor at the same time! Only in Schenectady, a place steep in corruption, democratic control and political favors.

it's the place of broken dreams and shattered lives. Where the drunks are beaten down by cops. Where the smelly bums line the streets in downtown waiting for a hand out.

A place for the mentally ill, in the care of nazi camp psychiatrists, who were prescribed Haldol and Thorazine, to walk around like zombies. It's also where many people have been shot, raped and run over by speeding cars. (but not necessarily in that order)
If you come to Schenectady you are either a criminal, politician, cop or just mentally ill.

Come to this old once thriving city now turned litter dump only if you're willing to give up, fail miserably or just get sick, roll up and say "well it's been a nice life before but, now I am stuck in Schenectady! it's the end of the road Jack!"

Wow that was quite a group of postings and none of them were very flattering in their description of Schenectady in it's present state.

That is because there is not much flattering features left to speak about unless you are a flagrant liberal who goes around pretending how wonderful things are, even when you are being marched into the death chamber.

As sad as it is you gotta laugh at the honesty in those posts

Looks like they got it right:

Schenectady
A small city in the Capital District of Albany, NY which, it seems if one gets their info from urban
dictionary, is inhabited by bigoted, narrow minded, racist, illiterate, people who don't seem to
understand the effects of poverty and discrimnation on people of color or anyone else for that
matter.

Schenectady is a city which has beautiful old buildings and a nicely laid out down town
that, yes, has been underdeveloprd commercially over at least the past 30 years or so (a lot
because the shopping malls have taken business away from downtown )and buildings have fallen
into disrepair. However, there currently is a revitalization project going on and the city has been
looking pretty good and new businesses are opening all the time.
So for those ignorant residents
of the city who spend their time spouting racist and repugnant views, why don't you help the city
improve instead.

A Once Beautiful and pleasant town with a lot of history. Thomas Edisen moved there and opened the General Electric from which it became known as "The City that Lights the World". Other notables that happened in Schenectady it is the place The first ever television transmission, and also first

television station which is still running, Also the first radio station which is still running is in Schenectady. The Town was

a very Safe place to live throughout it's long history until the past two to three decades

when it all started going south. a Massive downhill mudslide and now Schniggerty is now

overrun by Crack, Crack dealing Niggers and street whores and all of the third worlders moving in

and so now Schenectady has become a Freakin Zoo and all the animals are out stalking the streets! Don't call the Schenectady cops because they are a gang of criminals themeselves. Schenectady cops are Known for breaking into cars and burglarizing, beating women, pimping women and selling drugs.
Watch you back in Schenectady cause You'll get mugged, raped or shot just walking down those streets! then the cops will arrest ya just for fun

I tried to watch a movie titled Night of the Templar. Reality contestants arrive at an old castle looking place. A rich bitchh enters and says to the events director, "you look like a bad actor in a Schenectady Dinner Theater."  The movie was unwatchable.

But I couldn't help thinking, dinner theater in Schenectady?

Is it considered dinner theater when a homeless guy performs outside the window of the restaurant?
