The trio, all age 20, surrounded the 19-year-old victim and struck him in the face with an empty vodka bottle, knocking him unconscious during the early morning hours of July 8 at a gathering behind the Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Schools administrative building, police said. The group then hit the victim in the face with a 4- by 4-foot piece of wood, stole his backpack, and rifled through his pockets. The victim suffered a fractured jaw, lacerations that needed 25 stitches to close, and several lost teeth. The suspects, Robert Nichols and Tony Deloatch of Saratoga Springs and Brody Gifford of Glenville were each charged with one count of gang assault, robbery and unlawful imprisonment, all felonies. Nichols and Deloatch remained at the county jail on $50,000 cash bail Thursday evening; Gifford was released on bail, according to jail staff. All are due back in court in the future, police said.
