SCHENECTADY — A small fi re that broke out in a vacant McClellan Street home left one fi refi ghter with a hand injury Tuesday evening. Schenectady Fire Department Deputy Chief Michael Gillespie said the fire started in the secondfloor rear bedroom at 22-24 Mc-Clellan St. Passersby noticed smoke coming from the building just after 6 p.m. Tuesday and fi refi ghters arrived to the scene by 6:10 p.m. The two-story wood structure contained four units, which might have been home to a few squatters, said Gillespie. “We’re in the middle of the investigation,” he said, unable to speculate on the cause of the fire.
