Fire in empty house put out

SCHENECTADY — A small fi re that broke out in a vacant McClellan Street home left one fi refi ghter with a hand injury Tuesday evening.
Schenectady Fire Department Deputy Chief Michael Gillespie said the fire started in the secondfloor rear bedroom at 22-24 Mc-Clellan St. Passersby noticed smoke coming from the building just after 6 p.m. Tuesday and fi refi ghters arrived to the scene by 6:10 p.m.
The two-story wood structure contained four units, which might have been home to a few squatters, said Gillespie.
“We’re in the middle of the investigation,” he said, unable to speculate on the cause of the fire.
The fire was quickly put out, he said, and the house sustained no structural damage............................>>>>........................>>>>...........................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01004&AppName=1
