Why does the last name of Tirado sound familiar?

Last woman who owned the pitbulls in that mauling was Tirado.

SCHENECTADY — The manager of an after-hours nightspot was operating the business illegally and selling alcohol when a fatal shooting happened outside the place last month, according to a city lawyer.

Assistant Schenectady Corporation Counsel Carl Falotico said Jada Tirado was arraigned Wednesday in City Court on a single count of not having a certificate of use from the city to operate the Masons club.

He said the document is required by any business in Schenectady to sell alcohol and is different from a state liquor license.

The violation of the local law specifically relates to the early-morning hours of Oct. 27 when police were summoned to the building at 548 Schenectady St. in the city's Hamilton Hill neighborhood for a report of gunshots.
