Was talking to a  young mom who is married with 2 small children. one is in kindergarten this year. They live in mt. pleasant. These are the first two questions her kid asked her within the first 2 weeks of school.................1. 'is it ok to spit on people?'......2.'is it ok to show your teacher the MIDDLE FINGER?' The mom (very very nice person) talked with some other moms who have kids in the same class about these questions and these moms came back with...........'they are going to learn that stuff soon enough, so what's the big deal!'

the mom said that they want to move out of the area, but they can't sell their house and won't just give it away either.

Inform friends and family of it's destructive nature.  It's not an institution that will end in one election cycle.  It's a slow and deliberate change in people's unquestioning acceptance of the government school.  Read John Taylor Gatto for a different perspective on public schools.  It's an information campaign.

urban underclass = trash

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

You mean the big cheerleader DV won't buy the house?   Just think how convenient it would be for him to be near his parish church if he lived in MP.   For all his comments about how wonderful the city is and how it's improving much.

He can't post the words on these boards that he was wrong about his precious city and co dems regarding the city but his actions speak louder than words.

Take luxury out of the environment of Catholic priests and let them live in dire straits as Mother Teresa did...

then the sacrifice we were preached about will become truth........

I was lead to believe that this kind of stuff started at a later age in the schenectady school district.....we were SHOCKED to hear about this happening among 5 years olds!!!

By the way, this young mom also told us that the other 'moms' (and I say that with reservations), are going to go to the school and complain about the homework these  year olds get. WHY????........Because these moms don't want to spend the time with the kids doing homework!! And that is exactly what they said and are going to tell the teacher!!! OMG!

Still waiting for you to admit the truth about where you went to school

Still waiting for you to provide the proof of what you wrote saying that the county taxes are the lowest in 50 years (as you are not a taxpayer  you would't even begin to know where to look for that answer)

Still waiting for you to provide proof of how the city is improving because of the dems

No proof, no credibility

Would be nice if parents could afford to pay for school other than city government schools, but DV, in view of the FACT that it in Schenectady, homeowners are paying almost the highest taxes in the whole country, and that also causes rents to increase, perhaps YOU can explain HOW parents are supposed to be able to send their children to school other than Schdy public schools.

Well?

I thought this was about City Council. That would be Romper Room-no? Parent should sell no matter how little they get. Head for the hills.  Everyone should support our Catholic schools. The
child you save might be your own. The fact that St John's School closed is a Countywide tragedy. There's no bottom to the City implosion.

The problem starts in the home not in the schools.  Parents use foul language and inappropriate behavior -- and the kids learn it.
