That's what happens when city government raises taxes so high that people can no longer afford to pay them. Everywhere you travel in the city, neighborhoods are in need of immediate repair, failing infrastructure, washboard roads, and only the couple of blocks of downtown are seeing any money spent to improve conditions. Millions of dollars spent on projects downtown that aren't needed or wanted while the rest of the city resembles a war zone but Morris and the developers are lining their pockets with taxpayers cash.

Huh?

Then how come it didn't happen to Philip Morris and his Proctors, it didn't happen to Paul Mitchell, it didn't happen to the Mallozzi family, it didn't happen to Paris Hilton and her family, it didn't happen to Galesi, etc?

That's what happens when the DEMOCRAT party in the city and county  force the homeowners to pay the taxes of their rich precious political cronies downtown in addition to paying their own taxes.   The burden is is far too much for financially struggling homeowners.

This message, no, this FACT must be repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and must given to each and every resident of the city until they vote out most of the city and county dems.   We have the EVIDENCE that proves it's their fault.

OH! HOW GLORIOUS! WHAT A RENAISSANCE! MAYBE WE CAN GET DEMOCRAP COMMITTEE PEOPLE
WHO LIVE IN GLENVILLE AND NISKY AND ASK THEM TO WRITE GLOWING LETTERS ABOUT HOW
WONDERFUL IT ALL IS!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

It looks like Appalachia. Don't forget Duane Ave in your nest slide show. 37 years of DEM moron City Councils have consequences. Re-elect who in the City?

GFY...... The people of the City of Schenectady have entrusted the Mayor and dually-elected City Councilmembers to continue the Renaissance and continue the Renaissance they WILL. Any attempt to besmirch or slander the City and its wonderful inhabitants only BACKFIRES for the sewer rats that comprise the local branch of the GOP.

Another fine example of the Schenectady public education system.

What's a 'dually' elected person?....Are there two of them?

A time comes when property owners can no longer pay taxes and keep the property livable.

Then they rent as long as they can and stop paying taxes. This is in fact their going out of business sale.

They can collect at least 3 years of rent. This can total $15,000 to $35,000, depending on the property.

Most of these properties are not in salable condition, therefore they just take monthly payments in lieu of a sale.

People don't choose to stop paying taxes and lose their property, they are unable to make the payments and keep the zero tolerance zoning enforcers off their backs. This forces the property into disrepair and non-payment of taxes status.

Over 600 this year.

The city doesn't even have the money to dispose of the foreclosed properties.

Blaming the poor for losing their properties, is  despicable.

People don't choose to lose their investments.

You can't simply rent properties out for $1500 a month in Schenectady so that you can afford the taxes and repairs.

These homes are the devastation caused by the excessive taxes.

These lost homes are not caused by people who just decided to stop paying taxes to screw the city.

600.

Next year will likely be another 600-700.

Yep, it's backfired, right on the mayor and council.

They caused a foreclosure mess by making the homeowners pay for the taxes of the rich political cronies downtown

Then they caused more of a foreclosure mess with the churches

Then they caused a foreclosure mess, they sold tax delinquent properties to ATF, now AFT is suing the city and the city is suing ATF.

Then they tried to exclude a fellow council rep from a PUBLIC meeting, but in doing so, they excluded THE PUBLIC from A PUBLIC MEETING and the only one true representative of the residents, Councilman Riggi, made sure the public learned about this underhanded stuff and it backfired on the council because the council backed off on it's plan regarding Bennett!   HA HA, DEMS LOSE

To top it off, all the cheerleading DV has done claiming the city is doing wonderful, etc, has backfired on him because the city and county are doing SO VERY BAD, that DV is too embarrassed to speak about what's going on in the city in his original name, he has to use the names of his imaginary friends, but we all know the truth

At the next Key to the City sale, you can pick all of the above up for a mere buck 385. From what I can see in the pics, the ones not featured don't look any better,.

This building is valued at $3,500. The land is valued at $7,200.

This property and 60 others were purchased by SURA for $1 as a package in Feb 2012 from the city of Schenectady.

The only people that voted for them were schizophrenic.
