Police probe robbery in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY — City police on Tuesday were investigating a report of a man who stole a woman's purse from her while she was loading groceries into her vehicle.

The robbery occurred around 2:13 p.m. near a market at 1600 State St., police said. The victim said the male suspect ran away through a parking lot on School Street and fled in a vehicle.

There was no description of what he was wearing or what his car looked like. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 382-5245.

That's weird, drug addicts usually take purses from people coming from grocery shopping after the 3rd of the month when everyone has reloaded their purses from the monthly check.
