I agree......time warner has gone down hill QUICK!!! I, like cel, had to call them a few times in the last month and the wait time was NEVER less than 15 minutes...grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! their customer service was superior....not so now!!! They told me that instead of a local call center...they have consolidated them......ONE CALL CENTER FOR THE ENTIRE EASTERN REGION!!!
........so much for CONSOLIDATION....EH?
And some people still try to insist that consolidation is best. This is the EVIDENCE that proves otherwise. And of course, with the consolidation our cost goes up, service goes down

We have not had any problems with our Time Warner service -- at least from their end. Aside from a few power outages, the only time that we have had any problems were when a storm brought down the cable and another time when we had a internet connection problem that turned out to be an issue with our own computer. Each time when we called - we got through to a customer service rep within 5 minutes or less, and received courteous and helpful service.
Others may have had problems with Time Warner but we have not had that experience. We are EXTREMELY satisfied with the service that we are getting.

DRV At one time I had the same experiences. No problems getting thru to someone or any difficulties with resolving a technical issue, service calls etc. but it isn't like that any more. Just for the heck of it. Call tomorrow and see what happens. Not sure if issue occurrs during business hours, try it after 6pm. 869-5500.
didn't the county just allow other franchises? maybe TW getting the squeeze.....less resources here for 'top notch'....why bother trying they think....it's the 'at least' in reverse

Yes, like Cel said, and basically I repeat from above, service was good IN THE PAST.
Here's another two numbers to call and just tell us that you got a human within 5 minutes.
1-866-321-CABL (1-866-213-2225) or 1-855-286-1736
And if you STILL insist that you don't get put on hold for half hour or more, be sure to provide the EVIDENCE (i.e., an audio file from the phone call).

SCHENECTADY -- Verizon is quickly making Schenectady County ground zero for the rollout of its FiOS TV service that competes with Time Warner Cable. The village of Scotia was the first local municipality to strike a cable TV franchise deal with the New York City telecommunications giant. And now Schenectady is poised to be the first major city in the region where FiOS TV will be available. The Schenectady City Council will hold a public hearing on the plan Monday and could approve a franchise during its meeting that night. After approval of the franchise by the state Public Service Commission, Verizon would be able to start selling cable TV in the city, along with its FiOS Internet and phone products, which are currently available only in certain parts of the Capital Region. "Competition is good," said Chuck Steiner, president of The Chamber of Schenectady County. "The fact that they have chosen Schenectady County is very good for us as a community. It offers another option." Time Warner has had a virtual monopoly on cable TV service and in most cases is the only company holding cable TV franchises in local municipalities. But several years ago Verizon began building its FiOS network to compete with local cable companies in the Northeast. It has slowly been negotiating franchises across the state, a process that is painstaking and also expensive because the agreements usually require Verizon to build out its system to the majority of citizens in a town or city within several years. Verizon has also targeted Albany County -- although not Albany city -- and has gotten franchise agreements from the town of Bethlehem and the village of Colonie. The towns of Guilderland and Colonie are next in line. The Guilderland town board will hold a public hearing Tuesday for the Verizon plan. Guilderland Supervisor Ken Runion said the hearing was originally planned for earlier this month, but one of the recent snow storms prevented the necessary legal notice from being published on time. Verizon spokesman John Bonomo said that discussions with the town of Colonie have progressed to the point that the town board is expected to discuss FiOS next month. Bonomo has said that places like Bethlehem and Scotia that have already gotten PSC approval should see FiOS TV rolled out by the end of March. It's likely, though, that places like Guilderland and Schenectady won't get TV service until later in the spring, after the PSC approves their franchises as well. Verizon hasn't said how much FiOS TV will cost or how much its bundles of TV, Internet and phone will cost. However, Verizon is advertising its three-product bundle for under $85 a month on its website, which is less than Time Warner's current deal of $99 a month for new customers. Hey DVR try calling now 869-5500 hope you have a speaker phone the wait is over 15 and last night the one time I tried it was 55 minutes wait.
He'll write and claim he only waited five minute, but of course he won't provide any evidence.
NEVER produces EVIDENCE, that's we ALL know he is full of lies

No reason to call them since our Time Warner service is working excellently.

Of course, typical DV cop out excuse to avoid being proven wrong.
Our TW is working fine too. In-laws was working fine too, just needed to get a component which required a phone call after the fact. One hour wait.
You do NOT need to have a service problem to just pick up the phone, call the number, hear the recording, and then see how long it takes to get a representative on the line. It's too embarrassing to realize that we speak the truth and provide EVIDENCE.

My only problem with Time Warner is my bill being higher than National Grid.
I worked there until July when a bunch of us were let go for the most miniscule of reasons. The company sucks. You can belive me when I say that. Twc or 'things will change' as I call it truly doesn't care about the customer. When I was hired, we sat in a classroom for six weeks learning nothing but data entry and sales. NO TROUBLESHOOTING at all, and with the market consolidation to the Highbridge road (where I worked) call center all we got were troubleshooting calls. Ever call to say you had a problem, only to have your cable box reset? Yep. That is all the Csr's can do. Same thing you can do by unplugging the box. We were not trained to do anything else besides sell, sell, sell. Not to mention many of the jobs are in the Phillipines now. The entire third shift went there, soon to be the whole shebang with regards to sales down in Albany.
As far as the long wait times, always. Always. ALWAYS ask the automated system fo sales and you will get through immediately. Customer service que takes every call first. True front line job there. Troubleshooting, billing, disconnect, retention, you name it. Your call, no matter what you say goes there. Except sales. Sales has their own secret que where they only get sales calls. So try that next time and see the magic happen.
Still looking for a job, but Tw is throwing unemployment at us all when we would rather be there working. I was tops in all the stats and sales there, yet still easily disposable. I liked the job but really have a bitter taste in my mouth over what all happened there. But yea, there ya have it. Any questions about TW I'll be more than happy to answer.
(And if anyone knows of any places hiring in Rotterdam please pm me some info. Applied to so many places but nothing yet.)
Nice info on the public hearing for fios. I will be there voicing my opinion let fios come here. I will go work for them and give an insiders insight on Tw and why fios here needs to happen.
Some folks at work got a mailer from the great TW..................saying that as of november 1st, they will be charging an additional $3.95 per month for LEASING THEIR EQUIPMENT!!!
