Not that they were that hot to start with but you can no longer contact them without waiting minimum 15 minutes and many times longer.  So far 25 minutes and counting.  I have a speaker phone so I can just leave it and listen to the god awful music and sickening sales pitches. Anyone notice less TW cable vans out there?  

Now you have to contact them via the chat feature on the internet.

They dropped another regular viewing channel to be replaced with TW sports channel on 50 yeah just what I want another sports channel.  

They are becoming a shopping, sports channel entity.  Not to mention that many of the upper channels are repeats of the lower channels so paying for them is stupid.

My cable bill went up again, 18 cents but how many are paying attention.  They have slowly been upping my bill a few pennies at a time every two or three months.  Just think 18 cents times at low end about 25,000 subscribers.  No small chunk of change when you realize they have been increasing the bill a few pennies every few months.

Leave it to the city council cable committee which consisted of that stupid Mayor McQuack to lock into a 10 year contract with them gougers.

Time for satellite.  They are offering better options then TW and looking better each day.   If Blanchard hates the way the dishes look good cause there are going to be more and more of them.

agree....but Verizon is no better....they have charges that you don;t know about too.....got rid of them..looking to Vonage....or phone jack...

or Dish....or that other service....have problems with Ch 10 on a daily basis.....like right now.....no matter......

greed upholds everything....

keep to basic...it's cheaper ...and PBS has all of what I need.....also 23....

Yeah the quality of the stations has gotten worse those squares in the picture and brrrr in the sound.  So far I waited over 30 + minutes and no one picked up.  So I tried billing thinking they would pick up faster you know they would pick up faster figuring someone was gonna pay their bill.  

Now I got another statement for this month I am on auto payment. Gonna go check my bank balance.

Last time they did this they overcharged me $45.00 they refused to refund the money they took out. and told me they would only credit it to my next months payment.  Do you realize how much money they held onto to invest earn on etc. times 25,000 subscribers low end count of subscribers.  I should have called the cable commission and attorney general's office then.

We never had any problems with our Time Warner connection or reception -- and the longest we have had to wait when calling them has been less than 5 minutes.

With the "digital tier", HBO, and Road Runner, my cable bill is horrendous.
I wouldn't mind as much but it works like crap. I get messages like "to continue watching this program press A", or just a black screen that says "please wait".
Sometimes the box will just decide to reboot itself, which takes around 7 minutes.

I'm considering getting rid of it, and just getting Road Runner.
I can get all the main stations via antenna (it's actually higher definition because it skips a step), and anything else, I can watch online.

I have phone, RR the middle of the line one $45 and digital cable with DVR and I locked into a two year contract I save
$30.50 a month but with the double dipping this new bill says I saved $61.  In Feb when I renew it I am gonna go to another provider.

EDIT just checked bank account they haven't taken out twice yet but the date they do the autopayment which should be any day now we will see

Verizon is much worse. We switched from TW to Verizon about a year ago when the guys came strolling through our neighborhood. Every bill was different, (and not correct), the service was never what we had agreed to and every time we called the rep was unbelievably rude. I ended up loosing my mind on them, swore up a screaming storm and had them disconnect us on the spot (without any other service planned). We are back with TW and while the Internet is much slower and the tv drops out a lot i still will stick with them. I usually get through pretty quick myself and the reps really try to be helpful mist of the time. Verizon Internet is much better though if you can stand the incorrect billing and rude staff.

DV says never waiting longer than 5 minutes.

We've had TW for many years (cable, phone, net, voice mail).   And during that time, we too, got through to a person (a person who obviously wasin the U.S. as well).   We've had satellite in the past and frozen pictures with pixels or totally lost picture during storms. We occasionally get pixels with cable, not necessarily during storms, but nothing we bothered trying to find out why, actually it seemed it would happen on the weather channel but other channels were fine.

We had called them as recently as maybe July this year and got through on the phone with no problem.  

Then back in Sept I think, there's a guy who talks at the council meeting regularly, he said got "the message" that says wait time is at least 15 minutes and I think he said he waited an hour and his cell phone died or something like that.  

I think within days after that we got a letter that mentioned moving some channels to the digital tier but that they would give you an adapter at no cost, no monthly price (until $1.00 a month starting I think 2014) IF you didn't have a digital box.

My in-laws finally decided to get a digital box, well, mom likes that Catholic channel (the one that nun has, that nun who spent $4 million on an altar of pure gold), do she would need that adapter, but I told her we'd cover the digital tier cost (see, they pay the taxes for the rich downtown and are on fixed income, so they never got it, but it's obvious TW is going to keep doing this.   I stopped to pick up a box, the woman at the desk asks if it's high def TV and I said no, that they still have the analog.   I went to hook it up for them and there was an HDMI cord, not the cord needed for the TV.   Called them, got the usual 15 minute wait message, on hold for an hour and it disconnected.  Called back and upon pressing the number for the tech support option it disconnected.   Called again and chose another option and after about 40 minutes got a human and was told that it's the wrong cord and that they don't have any more cords for the old TV's.  The guy said we could go to a store and buy one, tried to describe what was needed, but to summarize, it wound up they needed to send someone out and my parents got charged a a service visit charge!  I told my inlaws I'll go in person with the payment and state that it's minus the service charge because it's their error

Our next door neighbor had to get one of those digital adapters because they don't have that expanded cable stuff, then after they hooked it up they had to call a different phone number to have it activated, they too waited for about an hour, the activation didn't work so they too were told they have to send a tech out and it ended up being almost a week and there was going to be a service call charge as well.   But my neighbor said he told them on the phone no way will they pay for it.

I am ALMOST willing to give TW the benefit of the doubt in terms of the wait time because there may be a bigger demand (than I would have thought of) for the adapter (but then, in Schenectady city you can't afford higher tiers because your taxes are so high), they also changed everyone's account numbers.  

Maybe in several months' time things will settle down, after all the channels don't work without the adapter now, so I don't know if they are still getting people calling to activate or what.

So the fact is, and the EVIDENCE proves that currently, the service sucks.  It's quite obvious that DV has not had any need to call TW within the past two months, and if he wants to claim there is only a 5 minute wait, then I would challenge him to record the phone call, convert it an audio file and post it here.   Otherwise, I'm sure DV will admit that there currently is an hour wait.

It must have been a temporary thing? Last week our phone started acting up. We could call out fine but whenever anyone called in the phone would ring once, then there would be static for 15-30 seconds and then it would disconnect. My other half called, got right through and someone came out and fixed it the next day at no charge. I don't know if Phone problems get routed somewhere different from cable problems though. I really hope it doesn't become a permanent issue though because their customer service has really been the only reason to stay with them...it's sure not cause their prices are good!

I agree......time warner has gone down hill QUICK!!! I, like cel, had to call them a few times in the last month and the wait time was NEVER less than 15 minutes...grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! their customer service was superior....not so now!!! They told me that instead of a local call center...they have consolidated them......ONE CALL CENTER FOR THE ENTIRE EASTERN REGION!!!

........so much for CONSOLIDATION....EH?
