I am pleased to endorse Representative Chris Gibson for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives in the 19th District of New York.  Mr. Gibson is a fellow Siena College alumni and while we were not close friends --- I did know him from several classes that we took together and other on-campus interactions -- and even way back then (almost 30 years ago) he impressed me as someone who is knowledgeable, hard-working, genuinely caring about others, someone with strong leadership qualities  and most importantly -- someone with impeccable integrity.  He is a devout Roman Catholic who is not afraid to stand by his faith and its teachings  IN THE PUBLIC ARENA as well as living it in his personal life.

During their debate on WMHT-TV, his opponent Julian Schreibman attacked Gibson for supporting the tax cutting economic policies of the George W. Bush administration and questioned why we would want to go back to those "failed policies".   As the Democratic Voice of Reason, I will cite the ACTUAL FACTS which would strongly suggest that tax cutting economic policies of President Bush were much more successful than the Tax and Spend economic policies employed by President Obama in the past 4 years and supported by Schreibman and other Democratic candidates for the U.S. House and U.S. Senate.

From January 20, 2001 through the end of 2007:
*  52 months of positive job growth
*  + 8 million new jobs created during the 7 year period (note that the 9-11 recession cost 1 million jobs which were then gained back -- so you can actually say that the Bush administration created 9 million jobs in those 7 years)
* 2.5 % increase annually in labor productivity
* 11% increase in after-tax income for the average American
* Federal deficit fell to 1% of the total GDP
* 17% growth in GDP over the 7 year period

No one will deny that the collapse of the housing market, the crisis within the banking system and the subsequent economic collapse in 2008 caused deep economic hardship for many Americans -- but the collapse of the housing market and the banking crisis were NOT caused by low taxes/tax cuts.

Schriebman and other Democrats running for the White House and Congress would like to confuse the matter by suggesting otherwise --- but they are not just wrong --- they are knowingly distorting the truth.  Democrat John Kennedy and Republican Ronald Reagan BOTH proved that cutting taxes spurs economic growth and creates jobs.  Congressman Chris Gibson and Governor Romney are solidly in favor of following that bi-partisan example of proven successful economic policies.

That is why I solidly support Chris Gibson for Re-Election to the House of Representatives.

As a NON-TAXPAYER who has proven your lack of credibility, fellow board members can't put any faith in your posts.

By the way, have you found the information that the county taxes are lower than 50 years ago yet????    Huh?   No proof because it was just another lie.

Look at your comment:

Quoted Text
...proved that cutting taxes spurs economic growth and creates jobs....

Gee, YOU are the one who is shaking those pom poms, cheerleading for Schenectady's almost highest taxes in the country, you cheer unceasingly for burdening the homeowners in the city the taxes of the rich in downtown, you cheer for increasing taxes on the homeowners in the city to fund all the wild uncontrolled spending on downtown---spending that has done NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the city---no jobs, a drastically declining tax base, plummeting home values in the city while home values outside the city are increasing, drastically increased taxes on homeowners, loss of essential & vital city services in exchange for lavish pay of a tax evader for a non-essential theater, a failing school system, a city in which people are fleeing from in droves, a city in which houses are not selling, and homeowners losing their homes because they can't afford the taxes.

But YOU constantly cheer for the dems in the city and county and town and you can't provide ANY EVIDENCE, not one teensy weensy shred of evicdence that it's getting better.

In some posts you cheer for high taxes, now you post something saying lower taxes are better, GEEZ, CAN YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND?

By the way, when are you going to buy a house in the city that YOU claim is so wonderful?????    When are YOU going to start paying taxes?

Schreibman's campaign ads are probably the biggest pile of bullshit since the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Thank you for your in depth evaluation and endorsement...it has helped me understand who I would vote for. Your evaluation is a strong case for why Julian Schreibman is the better choice. GOOD JOB!

Gibson is a scumbag who fell in lock step with the rest of the a$$holes to make sure that any bill that might provide some relief to the American people would be struck down, for the sole purpose of regaining the white house.

Your endorsement means about as much Honey Boo Boo's endorsement for Obama.

Time has proven again, and again, that anything YOU are in favor of, HAS  GOT to be a crock of sh*t!

NEWS FLASH!!! They got a lot done in those 2 years, including the affordable health care act, despite the repugnants biting and clawing every step of the way.

NEWS FLASH!!!
He also saved the auto industry, got us out of Iraq, started Wall St. reform, passed the stimulus (from which Romney pocketed $15.3million personally), and a plethora of other things, including lowering unemployment numbers which the teabaggers so absurdly believe can be manipulated.

NEWS FLASH!!! Even Romney thinks Republican voters are stupid, comparing their minds with an Etch-A-Sketch, and he must be right, because you don't know where he stands on any given day, and are willing to believe whatever prevarications might spew from his mouth at any given moment, contradictory, or not.

Pro choice? Pro life? You won't know until he is in office.
All he has are "secret plans", and economic promises that are mathematically impossible.

Supporters of Schreibman and other well-known Democratic candidates for the U.S. House and the rest of the Pelosi-palooza crowd have been dishing out of misinformation in their ads, debates and other public remarks.  The simple FACT is that the first 7 years of the Bush administration saw economic growth, job creation and other MEASURABLE positive outcomes as a result of LOWERING TAXES.  Compare that to the FACTS from the Obama administration -- 23 million people unemployed or underemployed, more people on food stamps,  increased deficits, increased national debt,  interest rates being kept artificially low by the Fed,  barely 1% growth in GDP, no budget passed in 4 years, gas prices double what they were 4 years ago and on and on and on ..................... Chris Gibson and Mitt Romney are proven leaders.  They won't lead from behind.  They won't try to blame others and do nothing.  They won't just say a lot of fancy words and do nothing.

And another thing --- Chris Gibson is NOT a career politician -- He has a made a promise to a self-imposed term limit  because he doesn't see representative politics as a career -in and of itself -- but a means to serve the country that he loves, solve problems and then return to the private sector.   It is too bad that we don't have more people like Chris Gibson running for public office in America.

... Bush ... result of LOWERING TAXES.  Compare that to the FACTS from the Obama administration

... Chris Gibson and Mitt Romney are proven leaders.  They won't lead from behind.  They won't try to blame others and do nothing.  They won't just say a lot of fancy words and do nothing.

....

Based on what you say, Bush lowered taxes and that's why things were good.   OK, then explain why you cheer for your dem buddies raising taxes in the city and county???????

No answer to that one because you obviously a hypocrite.

Romney had his government health care, guess you like that?

Hey I don't like Obama for many reasons, but tell us what Romney is going to do about taxes????   Eliminate the tax on capital gains and investments which only benefits the rich.

Care to tell us what will happen when Romny eliminates the mortgage interest deduction  and education credits?    Oh, you have no clue and don't care, you have no mortgage so you are not a taxpayer, and you have no children to put through college.   I trust you remember when a youngster asked Romney how he (the student) is going to be able to afford college and Romney said  "shop around," which means, "oh, you're from from our millionaire class, you can't afford the good schools, you can go to the cheap schools."

He just wants people to vote AGAINST Gibson b/c he knows how much people here despise him (DVOR)

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I'm not voting for Romney.  I don't believe a word he says.  Straw man.  My argument was addressing the claim of obstructionism.

BTW...On average, health insurance is more expensive.

Chris Gibson is a great guy.  Intelligent, friendly, hard-working and, unlike most of the politicians that I know, genuinely sincere.   I was delighted when he was elected and will be even happier when he is reelected.  My only regret is that when they redraw the Congressional District lines they did put Schenectady County in Congressman Gibson's district.
