SCHENECTADY — City detectives are looking into a home invasion Wednesday night in which one of the occupants of a Central State Street residence was shot during a struggle with one of the suspects.

Police say two bandits, one of them armed, demanded money after entering a Kelton Avenue apartment shortly before 11:50 p.m. One of the tenants, a 20-year-old man, was shot while trying to grab the gun from the invaders, police said.

The shooting victim was taken to Ellis Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects remain at large.
