More renaissance news from "revitalized" Van Vranken Avenue. Both EJ's Ritz Terrace and Pasqualina's
closed October 7th. Two more empty businesses in the imploding City. Where is the Metrograft hand out? Lost
jobs and lost tax revenue. The solution is according to the City DEM morons higher fees/higher taxes. High taxes have consequences. Where is the Northside President on this? Two great restaurants the old Ritz and old
Cornell's empty, shuttered and off the collapsing City tax rolls. The oppressed City homeowners can pick up
the tab-No?

further proof of the conspiracy to destroy the scheneck economy of all NON-CONNECTED NON-METROPLEX assisted businesses.

Some day when I have days of time to spend (yeah right) I would like to compile a list of all the CLOSED BUSINESSES over the past 10 years in our once fine city. There are HUNDREDS that tanked, and a handful of selected and connected few that were promoted by the democraps to succeed thru assistance from Mplex dt

That is too bad that yet more businesses are closing. But you can rest assured that the METROPLEX/GILLEN will quickly open 'something...anything' that will generate some sales tax so he can keep his empire going!!! That's what the METROPLEX/GILLEN does.....opens, closes, opens, closes, opens, closes...........and it only helps the select few and those who collect $$$$$ working for the METROPLEX....aka GILLEN!! Without the METROPLEX.....GILLEN would be out of his SIX FIGURE JOB!! uh oh!!

The METROPLEX/GILLEN is trying to shine sh!t with taxpayer's money, while the overburdened taxpayers are shouldering the entire tax base!! Shameful!!

Surprising that parents are still enrolling their kids at Union....since it's in the pit of the crime ridden city.

It's called an uneven playing field. When DEM contributors via Metrograft get a freebie than everyone else has to pay more. Like to see is someone in the lame stream media add up all the tax exemptions that Death Ray has
given away Downtown that caused the City's financial collapse. Maybe the State Control Board can add it up when
they sweep pathetic taxer McCheese and his DEM running dogs out of City Hall-no?

Has anyone considered that the quality of their offerings may be the reason they have gone under?????? I cannot speak for the Ritz, but did try the other a few times. First time was shortly after opening, and food was nothing special and frankly not well prepared....but I thought being new it might be growing pains. Went again about 1 month later...it was worse....that meant I would no longer go. So maybe I wasn't alone in not wishing to patronize them again, and that might be why they are no longer in business....just saying....IMHO

VERY few Italian Restaurants can prepare Italian food the likes of which are lovingly hand - crafted in MY kitchen..
BUT -- I would recommend a trip to Brandon's or Dolce Vita when La Famiglia is not open.

Understand the quality of food is just on State St.....every other area in the city has gone caput.....especially in dilapidating neighborhoods...

that is just what has happened in Goose Hill......Broadway on the hill....Crane St..... etc..seems at one time all these areas were thriving.

wonder how the Dolce is doing..

Brandon's is prospering on Chrysler Ave. Ferrari's is prospering in Mt Pleasant. Joe is right and the food
better be good in a sketchy neighborhood. The same cannot be said for Petta's. Part of the problem at Pasqualina's was the initial menu was too big resulting in waste. It's the record taxes-stupid. Because of the tax debacle City
rents and the cost of business are not competitive. And the owner of Petta's still supports a 8% increase for all
County taxpayers?

Personally, I think the area is over saturated with Italian restaurants and the cuisine is just too easy to make for yourself at home.   We need some other types of restaurants in the area.
