These are not easy to identify in downtown, due to various fictitious names (kind of like the cheerleader and his imaginary friends). But we do find them, those of us who are intelligent recognize one when we see it.
And the properties owned by Galesi's fictirious names are all tax exempt, courtesy of Stratton, McC, Savage, city, county, and plex. Homneonwers in the city are struggling financially, so much so that many are losing their homes because they cannot afford to pay the tax burden of downtown property taxes.
And in return for these exempting Galesi properties from property taxes, the result for the city is a reduced tax base, home values plummeting, almost the highest taxes in the whole country, highest poverty, highest crime, highest teen pregnancy, people fleeing the city, houses can't sell, children's lives are in grave danger at times that they even walk home from school, to name a FEW negatives.
And what does Galesis get courtesy of the city taxpayers?
Here's one of his many residences, he bought this for $2.3 million and sold it for $28 million.
And while the city homeowners are struggling, many even losing their homes, here is Mr Galesi's main home. He, himself, doesn't want to live in the city and pay taxes as a homeowner. And some board posters think it's wonderful that city homeowners pay for Galesi's property & school taxes on buildings he owns IN the city.
