The nayboobs/constant complainers are completely ignorant of the facts and/or are lying through there teeth in their petty efforts to attack anything positive that happens in our community.

*The Erie Boulevard Reconstruction project is being funded by an $11 million Federal grant  -- and while that grant comes from tax dollars its is from tax dollars paid by ALL Americans and not just the residents of the city.  Other communities across the country have taken advantage of Federal grants to improve roads and infrastructure and to build economic development projects, it is about time that Schenectady County got its fair-share.  Of course, the nayboobs would rather have us NOT take Federal money -- they would rather see our Federal tax money go to other communities in other states.

* While Metroplex money is being used for some elements of the project, it is a FACT that millions of dollars of private investment will also go into the project.   But as usual, the nasty nayboobs will viciously lie about and attempt to defame any person or private enterprise that takes the time to care about and invest in Schenectady County.

If the nayboobs think they can do a better job - let's see them cough up several million dollars and come up with a better plan for the ALCO site.

The Federal government is in deep sh*t debt, but because you are not a taxpayer, you don't understand.   Guess you don't know how much more interest those of us who are taxpayers will pay because the Fed's credit rating has been lowered.   You don't care, you don't pay taxes.

Narrowing Erie Blvd to create massive traffic congestion as people try to flee from the city will NOT help the city.

DV, tell us, come on, tell us.   HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of our taxpayer dollars spent already on downtown.   So tell us DV, come on, be a man and answer these questions

What has the been the result of spending HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars on downtown??????????????????

Tell us what effect it has had on the tax base.
Tell us what effect it has had on the home values
Tell us what effect it has had on tax BILLS (of the HOMEOWNERS)
Tell us what effect it has had on amount of sale tax generated IN the city
Tell us what effect it has had on the ability to sell a house IN the city
Tell us what effect it has had on the numbers of houses put up for sale in the city
Tell us what effect it has had on the length of time it takes to sell a house
Tell us what effect it has had on the crime rate in the ctiy
Tell us what effect it has had on the school system
Tell us what effect it has had on the poverty rate in the city
Tell us what effect it has had on the county budget
Tell us what effect it has on the city's credit rating
Tell us what effect it has had on the city's budget
Tell us what effect it has had to attract stores to open downtown---store at which we  can actually shop

Well?    Are you MAN ENOUGH to answer those questions?????????     Are you?????

What is "positive"   ????

The DRASTICALLY REDUCED tax base?
The DRASTICALLY PLUMMETING home values?
The DRASTICALLY INCREASED taxes?
Having your house listed for sale for a year and not be able to sell?
An over-abundance of vacant homes?
The lack of anyone wanting to move into the city
People fleeing the city?
Having one of the worst school districts around?
Having one of the highest taxes in the whole country  (yes country, not county)
Having one of the highest crime rates?
Having one of the highest teen pregnancy rates?
Having one of the highest poverty rates?
No stores willing to move into and open in the city

All in return for taxing people so high that homeowners lose their homes?

DV......Are these things positive?????

We ALL know DV will NOT respond, because there nothing positive that has happened

not to mention the PATHETIC over passes......they look like trash.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
