SCHENECTADY – A Schenectady man is facing drug charges after police say they raided a Van Vranken Avenue home for the third time.

Police say a lengthy investigation led to a search warrant being executed at 1513 Van Vranken Ave. Tuesday morning.

Israel Torres, 47, was taken into custody. He’s charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Police recovered a rifle, a small amount of drugs and some cash.

No one was injured. However, police did shoot and kill a dog during the bust.

Police say this is the third raid conducted at this address in 18 months.

SCHENECTADY - A Schenectady teen is behind bars, accused of trying to rob a fellow high school student.

It happened just before 8:30 Tuesday morning near the intersection of Phoenix Avenue and The Plaza.

Police say 16-year-old Jalen McKain and 2 other boys assaulted the other teen then tried to steal his iPhone.

One of the other boys was arrested on unrelated charges and the 2nd released.

The victim was not hurt.

Just wondering if all three were involved with the assault then WHY were not all three arrested?

I'm sure they were just celebrating the fact that schenectady just got a new business that will employ THREE people in a tax exempt building!!! They were excited cause they just knew it would improve their quality of life and lower their taxes!!!

Unfortunately -- a dog was threatening the officers rather than a nayboob.

Was that street ever nice? As long as I remember it was a hell hole which only got worse the closer to Yates Estates you got
