I disagree with those - like Box - who think voters don't care about the Terrorist Attacks in Benghazi.  Many people that I have spoken to -- many of whom have been loyal Democrats for years -- are outraged by the attacks and the perceived attempts to "sweep it under the rug".

The problem with extremists like Obama and some of the local Democratic candidates for state and federal legislative positions -- is that they assume all Democrats think like they do and/or will just follow orders and return them to office.   Libya and the whole handling of Terrorism is just ONE EXAMPLE where many rank and file Democrats are parting company with Obama and the extremist neo-libs -----------   we are rising and will take back our party and move it back to the center.

Cicero's "NAIL IN RE-ELECTION COFFIN" for those responsible for the lack of security at Bengazi ?

OK Cicero... Here is the group who's responsible, be sure to hold the TeaBaggers responsible at
the polls:

The Democratic staff memo that outlined Nordstrom's pleas for more security also said that...
"House Republicans voted to reduce embassy security funding by about
half a billion dollars below the amount requested by the Obama administration
since 2010."

The Democratic-led Senate had been able to restore "a small portion" of these funds, the memo said.

Lol, the state department didn't deny additional security because of lack of resources.   That's argument has already been destroyed.

BTW...funding didn't have anything to do with the Administration blaming it on a "spontaneous mob".  Telling the truth doesn't need more funding.  But I wouldn't be surprised you big government liberals making that argument. HAHAHAHA!

Cicero's FoxSnooze information...
VS
The Truth:

Quoted Text
The Los Angeles Times’ version of the CIA’s role focuses the most heavily on pushing back on
Fox’s spin:
“At every level in the chain of command, from the senior officers in Libya to the most senior officials
in Washington, everyone was fully engaged in trying to provide whatever help they could,” a senior
intelligence official said in a statement. “There were no orders to anybody to stand down in providing
support.”

Quoted Text
A senior official also sought to rebut reports that C.I.A. requests for support from the
Pentagon that night had gone unheeded.
In fact, the official said, the military diverted a Predator drone from a reconnaissance mission
in Darnah, 90 miles away, in time to oversee the mission’s evacuation. The two commandos,
based at the embassy in Tripoli, joined the reinforcements. And a military transport plane flew
the wounded Americans and Mr. Stevens’s body out of Libya.

On 9-11 US Marines were posted to protect the embassy in Barbados, but not Libya

    Democrat foreign policy in action.

When terrorists attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11 of this year and killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans, there were no U.S. Marines deployed in Libya to defend U.S. diplomats, diplomatic facilities and classified information and equipment.

However, says the State Department, a Marine Security Detachment was deployed on that day to carry out those duties at the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados.

“U.S. Marine Security Guards serve at the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown, and at other diplomatic missions around the world, to protect and safeguard American diplomacy,” Rebecca Ross, the U.S. Embassy to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Counselor for Public Affairs, said in a statement to  CNS News.

ADDITIONAL SECURITY WAS REQUESTED 1 MONTH PRIOR TO THE 9/11 ATTACK.   THE STATE DEPARTMENT WAS AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL SECURITY THREAT PRIOR TO THE ATTACK.  THE COMMANDER AND CHEIF FAILED.

Exclusive: Classified cable warned consulate couldn't withstand 'coordinated attack'

The U.S. Mission in Benghazi convened an “emergency meeting” less than a month before the assault that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, because Al Qaeda had training camps in Benghazi and the consulate could not defend against a “coordinated attack,” according to a classified cable reviewed by Fox News.

Summarizing an Aug. 15 emergency meeting convened by the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, the Aug. 16 cable marked “SECRET” said that the State Department’s senior security officer, also known as the RSO, did not believe the consulate could be protected.

“RSO (Regional Security Officer) expressed concerns with the ability to defend Post in the event of a coordinated attack due to limited manpower, security measures, weapons capabilities, host nation support, and the overall size of the compound,” the cable said.

According to a review of the cable addressed to the Office of the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Emergency Action Committee was also briefed "on the location of approximately ten Islamist militias and AQ training camps within Benghazi … these groups ran the spectrum from Islamist militias, such as the QRF Brigade and Ansar al-Sharia, to ‘Takfirist thugs.’” Each U.S. mission has a so-called Emergency Action Committee that is responsible for security measures and emergency planning.

The details in the cable seemed to foreshadow the deadly Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. compound, which was a coordinated, commando-style assault using direct and indirect fire. Al Qaeda in North Africa and Ansar al-Sharia, both mentioned in the cable, have since been implicated in the consulate attack.

In addition to describing the security situation in Benghazi as “trending negatively,” the cable said explicitly that the mission would ask for more help. “In light of the uncertain security environment, US Mission Benghazi will submit specific requests to US Embassy Tripoli for additional physical security upgrades and staffing needs by separate cover.

As for specific threats against the U.S., the cable warned the intelligence was not clear on the issue, cautioning that the militias in Benghazi were not concerned with any significant retaliation from the Libyan government, which had apparently lost control in Benghazi. A briefer explained that they “did not have information suggesting that these entities were targeting Americans but did caveat that (there was not) a complete picture of their intentions yet. RSO (Regional Security Officer) noted that the Benghazi militias have become more brazen in their actions and have little fear of reprisal from the (government of Libya.)”

While the administration’s public statements have suggested that the attack came without warning, the Aug. 16 cable seems to undercut those claims. It was a direct warning to the State Department that the Benghazi consulate was vulnerable to attack, that it could not be defended and that the presence of anti-U.S. militias and Al Qaeda was well-known to the U.S. intelligence community.

In a three-page cable on Sept 11, the day Stevens and the three other Americans were killed, Stevens wrote about “growing problems with security” in Benghazi and “growing frustration” with the security forces and Libyan police. The ambassador saw both as “too weak to keep the country secure.”

Fox News asked the State Department to respond to a series of questions about the Aug. 16 cable, including who was specifically charged with reviewing it and whether action was taken by Washington or Tripoli. Fox News also asked, given the specific warnings and the detailed intelligence laid out in the cable, whether the State Department considered extra measures for the consulate in light of the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks – and if no action was taken, who made that call.

The State Department press office declined to answer specific questions, citing the classified nature of the cable.
"An independent board is conducting a thorough review of the assault on our post in Benghazi," Deputy Spokesman Mark Toner said in written statement. "Once we have the board's comprehensive account of what happened, findings and recommendations, we can fully address these matters."

No need to publicly disclose what went wrong in Libya

It isn’t enough that we lost Ambassador Chris Stevens in Libya. The fi nger-pointing now starts as to who said what and when.
We all know that he was brutally murdered by a group of cowardly extremists. As for the nuts and bolts of the matter, they should be critiqued in closed session and only on a need-toknow basis. Then, and only then, should a determination be made as to what facts should be released to the public.
It is time we learned that we should never give the details of any military operation or methods of response to a terrorist attack, because in doing so, we play into the hands of the perpetrators.
The matter of intelligence-gathering and analysis is a delicate subject, and speculation and second-guessing have no place in the mix. Any information we disseminate is picked apart and sifted by an enemy and can be applied in the conduct of future operations. So let the experts do their job.
Mr. Romney should have kept his mouth shut [at the second debate]. Leave the intelligence to the pros.

Shadow is getting his facts from dubious sources, but that's nothing new.

Just so you know...THERE IS NO US EMBASSY IN BENGHAZI LIBYA... Which is probably the reason that
there were no US Marines stationed there.

There ARE US Marines at the actual Embassy in Tripoli Libya... just as there are US Marines in all
us embassies around the world.

The dubious source is the Obama Administration that reported the attack was a spontaneous mob reacting to a video.

I am still a registered Democrat and actively support (work for) and give money to the candidates that I CHOOSE to endorse and support.

I have not been "stripped of Democrat credentials".  In fact, I still get phone calls, emails and letters begging for my time or my money to support various Democratic candidates.

The FACT is that I did NOT support Barack Obama for President in 2008 (nor did I support John Kerry in 2004 or Al Gore in 2000) because he was too liberal and, in my opinion, not prepared to be president.   He is still too liberal and still proves that he is not prepared/suited to be president.   Democrats are allowed to think for themselves.  Harry Truman didn't support JFK in his bid for the presidency in 1960.  Eleanor Roosevelt didn't support JFK either -- she refused to campaign for him or speak in favor of him until the very last days of the campaign .. and then .. only did a little campaigning for JFK because she disliked Nixon more.
Governor Cuomo endorsed Republican Roy McDonald over the Democratic nominee for State Senate this year.  It is not that unusual.
