TiB You obviouly have no clue what Tier 5 is.

Overtime can not count for more than 15% over salary whenh calculkating penison.  Tier 2 = $70k salary with earnings of $140k = $70k pension.  Tier 5 = $aproximately $80k slary.

Tier 5 20 years = 43% of best three year average - 22 = 50%.  At 62% they take your primary SS slaary (SPD salary) - take 50% of that figure andf reduce the penison accordingly - maybe not ideal but to call that insignificant is yto show you do not know waht you're talking about.

Theer is no such thing a sunlimited short term disability - all duty related injuries have to be verified, after a weke they are required to be certified for light duty = pay no longer becomes tax free as it would if was work related injury.

It's fair as long as they earn it, but no one ever said it was ideal to have them working those hours - the hours are avilabale because of short staffing and operational needs.

Lib - Based on the qualifications and background investigations - I doubt you could fill the department vacancies if only city resients applied.

80% of people surveyed would not agree taht they felt disrespected - of course, now I'm sure you'll tell me the survey data is flawed.  An answer for everything - too bad most of them are wrong

80% satisfaction would make you a failed business in reality.

Most businesses have 97% or better.

Your 80% figure would be if a cop wrote the poll question.

If you asked of you felt cops should be required to follow the residency requirements for the job the answer
would be 80% would be in favor of it.

visitor.  I am not talking about Pensions and Overtime. Just overtime in general.  Read my email again and then tell me what results we are getting for this overtime.  Studys would show very little and it isnt safe to be working with that much stress and no sleep.....and now the police will be walking through the house or crime scene pushing smoke alarms seeing if they work.  That sounds like a great plan!

The Current laws on the books dont allow people to operate heavy equipement after working so many hours.  why would we let people operate a gun?

at least live in the COUNTY.....

the problem with public unions is the fact that their benefits after retirement get paid forward onto the next generations backs
THAT is a HUGE local problem in all the public unions....

the politicians want the easy vote called "budget control" today, only to place on the next guys podium when it comes to the
future payouts....

we can't afford ourselves

TiB - I agree with you, it would definitely be preferable to not have officers or any employee working that many hours unless absolutely necessary (e.g., homicide investigation).  There are
many reasons why it is not a good idea - performance and  employee health are the most important in my opinion.

Lib 80=85% is where it has been trending - with the goal of improving.  To be fair, the police are one of the few companies who start off with a dissatisfied customer.

like healthcare....removing a person's choice do either of those things themselves leaves them feeling vulnerable and
less valued...not to mention a skewed (based on propaganda and government rhetoric) of who is 'bad' 'criminal' etc...
leaving social engineering up to those (reasonable and/or hired) also plays a factor in dissatisfaction....

the politicians spew 'music' to calm the beast that is inanely human...and the police are in the orchestra

we call that controlled chaos...aka society/community

Anyone know of a link where we can get a look at the police contract?  I would like to educate myself more on Teir 5 and its benefits.

I'm not sure who you would send the freedom of information request for Schenectady labor contracts, but here is a sample request from the NY state website detailing how to do it.

Given the two murders, in less than two weeks, in THE IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORHOOD of Kilcullen's mother, this new top cop, IF he cares anything about his mother, he WILL move her out of the city fast.

Then where is he going to sleep?

So, again, WHY is he refusing to buy a house IN the city and moving his family into the city?   Why?

Since he CAN more than afford the expense of sending his daughter to a private school, the school issue is not an excuse for not moving into the city.

So WHY won't he move his family INTO the city?????    Why not?

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
