The failure of Death Ray to bring in any new retail is evident in the City's total financial failure. More businesses given permanent tax exemptions does not a renaissance make. No wonder Hamilton Hill has the highest unemployment in Upstate NY. Where are the tax revenues/jobs/property value stabilization Death Ray?
SCHENECTADY — Work to upgrade the outdated Adirondack Trailways station on lower State Street will begin this fall.
The Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority released the design for a new bus station Wednesday, which pictures a sleek beige facade that will replace the current drab gray design at 22 State St.
Two Schenectady firms are handling the new look. Architecture firm C2 Design drew up the plans and Plank Construction Services will refurbish the structure.
Earlier this year, Metroplex approved $50,000 in matching facade grant funds for the fixup. The station serves as both a Greyhound bus stop and a regional hub for the Capital District Transportation Authority.
The site will also get new landscaping, signage, and minor enhancements to the parking lot, ticket and waiting areas.
The city has long sought to upgrade the bus terminal, which was once a gas station and is now an unattractive focal point of the area.
Trailways has been contemplating an 'update' for at least a decade. They knew that if they waited long enough........METROPLEX/GILLEN'S free money would be rolling in.

Don't fret! Death Ray{former Nisky DEM chair} is improving the bus station park. That should revitalize economic activity for the Y bums that hang over there. Metrograft must be abolished with the sales tax revenue returned to the localities for property tax relief.
