Say you have a neighbor and his/her trash is not picked up by the garbage truck, later in the day a city truck comes
and sprays garbage, then later in the day garbage truck comes back and picks it up. And say this happens at least
twice a month and you are concerned about what could be crawling over to your house and you call waste collection
and they tell you they can't say why garbage not picked up and sprayed but it shouldn't affect your house.

Another words they tell you its none of your business.

Doesn't sound really hypothetical.

What I would say is take videos on your trash day (just remember those pesky holidays) of the truck picking up at all the other houses and passing by this one.

Then take video of the city workers spraying.

Then hold your video camera up to the phone as you call again and ask why.

Then e-mail the video to all news media.   Heck, you could go national with that!

But one more question, the property in question, is it one that is not part of the city trash pick up, I believe anything with four or more units the property owner must hire a private company, so it could be the property owner has not paid his private company and this is the city's way of addressing the issue of vermin that could otherwise result.  And if I'm correct, while the city could be citing the homeowner, I think the city has to wait 30 days before taking action themselves and billing the homeowner?

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

their trash is picked up by the city, it's a two family house.  I called the mayors office talked to secretary and she said
probably roaches and or bedbugs and that the city will send someone to spray and its picked up 24 hours later.

But I know that after they spray its picked up the same day.

I don't care how my neighbors live its their business, but if something can spread to my house just concerned.

If they are spraying you have a right to know what the product they are spraying is, and they need to be licensed by the state to be spraying it.

I believe that neighbors are supposed to be notified when pesticides are in use.
