The following in the Daily (Schenectady) Gazette shocked me. I consider myself well read for an uneducated man, I guess I missed a book or two.
GERMAN CATHOLICS TOLD: PAY LEVY OR BE DENIED SACRAMENTS! It is a time honored practice in Europe for the state to collect religious taxes from registered believers. Protestants & Jews are in the mix also.
Another good reason for my people to have left the 'Old World'. I understand the reason for tax exempt status for churches in America. It was an attempt to secure religious freedom. It has become a monster that sustains church empires via the tax base. What another does not pay in taxes you as a tax payer make up. The way we do it in America is not as in your face as in Europe but the end game is the same.
Just when you think the Catholic Church is redeeming itself by standing up to President Obamas anti-Christ like antics the greedy buggers in robes get caught with their fingers in the till. AGAIN?
For the simple minded among you who imagine Martin Luther & the Reformation had something to do with Bibles, Jesus or bumps in the night; Here is the real deal. The clergy, Catholic at that time, lived like kings on the back of the peasants. The peasants wanted out & Luther gave them an out. The same impulse that drew people to the Cathars, the heretics.
The Bible, New Testament has been rewritten to promote a socialist agenda. The Prodigal Son & Jesus feeding the multitudes. The Prodigal was a lazy bastard, a whore mongering idolater, his father a good soul was making the point that the good son was always in his heart & should not fret over the useless bastard being helped. Now the useless one is championed, the father is an old fool & the good son is a greedy capitalist. Helping useless bastards is what it is all about now, the true path of salvation.
Jesus may have been a socialist, in some peoples mind but Jesus was leading us to a spiritual nirvana not an paradise on earth. Snakes & all.
Getting back to the Krauts & other Europeans. It is time for a another Martin Luther, one willing to put the lie to all existing 'spiritual imposters'. Spare none.
