This Sunday (Sept 30) McC is supposed to have some big home buying affair at city hall (are the financially struggling taxpayer paying for the cost of the electricity to use city hall?)
He is supposed to have real estate agents and banks and home buying counselors, etc available for prospective home buyers (of homes IN the city) and of course to learn what taxpayer subsidized programs are available in McC's DESPERATE ATTEMPT to try to get people to buy a home IN the city.
I think that "seminar" thing goes maybe 10 til 2 pm. And then they are going to have the McC bus tour of open houses from 1 to 4 I think. That Proctor's employee, who is on the council causing an ethical conflict of interest seeing as her Proctors salary is largely paid by the taxpayers, announced something at the council meeting the other day.
This is going to prove very interesting. The news media should be in attendance. The mayor is due to release his budget on Sunday. Can you imagine ANYONE seriously considering buying a home IN the city and going to seminars and taking a bus tour with McC while he tells them that the taxes are going to go up big time.
When the big cheerleader from the town--DV--refuses to buy a home IN the city, won't even rent IN the city, won't even put his pinky toe IN the city, and has ceased shaking the pom poms for the city, had ceased posting comments saying how wonderful the dems are, has stopped stating that the city is in a renaissance, you know the city is in deep sh*t

So McMaster says the budget wont go above the 2% and they still need to pay the $3 million to the school and they announced an increase in the TAJ Garage and they just settled a bunch of tax grevences, and their debt was just downgraded so something tells me Water, Sewer and Garbage are going to go up big time. Anyone disagree? |

Will have to check the papers, but one of the major realtor sites has just 8 homes listed for open house Sunday WITHIN the city.
With McC coming out with announcement of a doubling of the trash fee, increases in other (water and sewer) fees, institution of new fees and a large percent increase in the "taxes" (the tax BILLS), combined with Mc'C's open house being up against the "Showcase of Homes" in Saratoga, there will not be much interest in Schenectady offerings, not with tax increases combined with plummeting values. Buy in Saratoga and actually see your home appreciate!
