watching the local news last night. They gave a report about how much more will be spent this halloween by folks
dressing up their pets.
how do they know that? what a stupid crystal ball statement by news folks.....since when, oh wait never mind
they have been 'telling fables' for years now.....
that's like the headline that always reads 'This year people will spend more for thanksgiving preparations'...and the story
gets all clouded up with '...buying extra...more travel...blah blah blah' when in fact the f'en price of the turkey went
up..... |

The price of EVERYTHING is going to go up, due to crop failure.
Now, they want to raise the tolls on trucks as well.
Pretty soon, you'll have to take out a bank loan to buy a box of Cheerios.

Media is used as a sales booster/promoter in the capitalistic realm. When a shortageimpending price rise (perceived or real) of an item is reported on the news what do people do? Run out, stock up. Same for those impending end of the world storms. All run out and buy bread/milk. And what about the media reporting the latest got to have it fad? Remember the yearly Xmas got to have its-like the "Tickle me Elmo" toy some years ago? Yes the media is surely resp. in part for "economic stimulus". |
