That PD Vorhis who spoke at the council meeting was right about Polish Festival.   She said something about a plaque about Paderewski on the old school building on Irving Street.

Once again, that pastor Carlino (who in spring closed St John's school and fled the country) screwed the people of that Polish church on Eastern Ave and Irving St.

He sold that old Polish school and never took the placque off.   He could have given it to DV's church.   DV should take up the cause but he won't because he supports Carlino.

Carlino sold the building in 2007, with the plaque left on it.

Wow.  Looks like a nice place for a magnet school.  How long before this well build building gets burnt down like the Brandywine building?

Actually, the 100+ year old building is structurally unsound --- that is why the school closed in the mid 1970's.  The cost to make it sound and bring it up to code is way more than the parish could handle.

But it was structurally sound when it closed.    Demo by neglect?

It's understood that that Carlino sold the building, but couldn't he have had the decency to take the placque off

The code is the problem.  There are more people harmed by the taxes from running the govt than by lead paint and asbestos.

Only an idiotic nayboob would NOT understand the meaning of structurally unsound.

Nothing like the 2 by 4 structures they made at the corner of Barett and Union Street.

Carlino cares nothing about this community.

Father Carlino had NOTHING to do with the closing of St. Mary's School  -- the school closed in the mid 1970's due to the fact that the building was deemed unsafe and the parish could not afford to improve the building or build a new school building.

Furthermore, your repeated lies about Father Carlino are baseless and unchristian.   You expect a pastor to magically make everything o.k. --- it is as if you believe that all he has to do is say a prayer and money to pay the bills and students to fill the classrooms will just magically appear.

True Carlino had nothing to do with the CLOSING of the school, but he had EVERYTHING to do with selling the school building while FAILING to remove the placque which would EASILY have been removed and given to your church DV, or some other Polish group

By the way, students would have "appeared," i.e., remained, at St John's IF Carlino had allowed fundraisers but he eliminated them from the start of when he was at St John's.
