private insurance premiums and co-pays have increased.

medicare payments have gone up and services have gone down.

medicaid costs to the taxpayer has gone up (via taxes) and services have gone down.

Friends of ours (husband wife) were in england (socialized medicine)
He went to the hospital with severe abdominal pain.
They got to the hospital, placed him on a stretcher (of sorts) and left for 6 hours!!!
No blood pressure taken, no xray....NO NUTHIN'!!!
After SIX HOURS he was checked and he had ruptured intestines.....they had to do emergency surgery, placed on life support......AND ALMOST DIED!!!

but you can bet your a$$ that just like our supreme government officials are protected by GUNS....they too will get pristine health care....unlike the rest of us working slaves slobs!

As of Jan 1st 2013 my copays went up for doctors visits doubled, prescription drug out of pocket cost more than doubled, and for an expensive out of plan drugs costs went up to $75 per prescription refill.wow Obamacare is saving me a ton of money.

My Blueshield plan has $20 copay, $100 emergency room copay, $1,000 in-patient copay,
$15 generic drugs copay and $500 deductible for name brand drugs per year, per person,
then $30 copay for the name brand drugs.

All for a low, low monthly payment of $1,200 for a 2 person plan.

L4Life is one of the many Americans who will benefit greatly when ObamaCare is fully implemented.

LOL, just like the full implementation of social security and medicare. It works until it goes broke, then one generation of Americans will be stuck paying the bill for the previous.  There are economic laws that can't be avoided.  $16 Trillion in debt, that's 100% of GDP - one or two generation will suffer a reduction of wealth and opportunity for the excesses of prior generations.  And we are losing our liberties too boot.

Economics 101 - No Such Thing as a Free Lunch.

Popular payroll tax cut will cost Americans later
TERRY SAVAGE savage@suntimes.com February 19, 2012 3:28PM

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., left, reaches out to Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., on Capitol Hill in Washington, Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, to celebrate as members of the bi-partisan House and Senate conferees on the payroll tax cut extension signed the compromise agreement. Late last week, Congress passed the “Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012.” The law has a great name, designed to appeal to all voters. Neither the conservatives who worried about the cost, nor liberals who wanted more benefits, could stand in the way of its “bipartisan” appeal — especially in an election year!

(The new law also extends unemployment benefits, and makes sure that physicians receive appropriate reimbursement for treating Medicare payments. Those important issues really have nothing to do with either “middle class tax relief” or “job creation” — but they were thrown in as part of the political process.)

The real attraction for all smart politicians was the extension of the payroll tax cut. The Joint Committee on Taxation has estimated that approximately 170 million wage earners and self-employed individuals will benefit from the payroll tax reduction in 2012, an estimated average $1,000 increase in take-home pay in 2012. That’s the kind of action that really attracts votes.

But what will happen to Social Security? That’s an issue that should worry young and old alike.

Because that’s what the “payroll tax” is: the money taken out of your paycheck to pay for your future Social Security benefits. Or at least, that’s how the plan was first described when Social Security was enacted back in 1935.

Trust fund?

Now here’s the accounting legerdemain that the politicians agreed to last week when they passed this bill, according to a tax briefing by the independent analysts at CCH:

My new Blue Shield went into effect Feb 1st and the co-pays were dropped, dental insurance was added, and
the monthly payment dropped over $100 each month. That's over $1,200 less this year.

Good for you!!
Is your medical coverage the 'exact same' as last year?
I know 'for a fact' there 'definitely' is higher premiums and less coverage under medicare.

they added to dental of dentists who wish to participate....it was very difficult before and unless the government had a
golden phallic to offer I doubt it's any better.....

it's dirt cheap to get your teeth cleaned....try to get your smile 'fixed'....if your teeth work and you can nourish yourself
there's no need to get dental work...unless the government is now in the business of paying for pretty smiles....

copays aren't a bad thing...I bet if we asked most americans they can tell how they spent $100/month on crappy endcap stuff
while standing in the line at the flea market Walmart....

I know of a woman who, starting Jan 1, has no co-pay or deductible for annual physical and gyno exam.
Before Jan there was a copay and a $500 deductible for those services.  Her premiums are the same
as last year.  Her employer is a drug store chain.

here's the thing....YOU DON'T NEED AN ANNUAL PHYSICAL OR GYNO EXAMS....paying for 'pre-emptive' nothingness
just to be a stat/rat experiment doesn't count as healthcare....

you don't need a doc/god to tell you what your body is telling you....we are like little hamsters on a wheel never paying
attention to our bodies and it's conversation with us....

now if you have something unusual happening, by all means go to the doc.....because they will ALWAYS give you the
'positive' bad things that could have happened....

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed nor am I the healthiest person, I like my vices....but we really really really have
to listen to our bodies and use our brains and stop getting in line like hamsters, for someone to feed/clothe and
probe us....just because we are now trained to think "this is normal"....
