If you were a fair observer of what goes on here, you would hardly say that I am equally at fault.  Just for the record, I have certain folks like MikeChristine, Joeboxer, GrahamBonnet on permanent ignore -- they are not worth wasting any of my time to even read let alone respond to them --- and I occasionally add others who act like bullies or just tend to whine on endlessly.

I try to be objective and do my homework before I respond to a comment. That being said, I don't wish to stray from the topic and will only say, that I do find some inaccuracies in your above statement and would like to pursue them further. I will refrain from doing it here, and perhaps another stand alone thread would be better suited for the discussion. Good day.

The problem isn't lack of revenues it's that the DEM morons spend too much. McCheese can't even read a  financial report. But he was a phony "job creator" and "law enforcement expert". Supporting Hull was a no brainer. That McCheese wasted police to watch a budget analyst speaks volumes. Where's Visitor on this waste of police resources? Waiting for a prepared statement? The County is also screwed. First the needless Library expansion Downtown that looks like s#$% and now the new County Home.

Soon there will be no excess County money to spread around. While Fulton, Montgomery and Saratoga closed public homes these DEM idiots build a new one. County taxes are minor compared to town. When the City goes the whole County is done.

Couldn't have been said any better.

The City is done and the County is as well. Both entities know NOTHING about saving a dime and now they're screwed. The nursing home will not bring in enough state money the County was relying on to get that Titanic afloat. It's going to crash and burn and the taxpayers of this County will be drowning in debt paying for it.

I was wrong about Roger Hull also.  He obviously just wants to get elected and therefore tries to force the citys problems back onto the county.  The answer is not shifting problems around Roger.  It is making people pay there fair share.  Not just the city, the county, the state and the country.  Once we get back to rewarding people for excellence in this country then we will succeed.  But it will never happen.  Too many training wheels, props and safety nexts.  Too much entitlement being trained.

...With a modern computer system?  The state could do it with a simple excel spreadsheet.  Businesses have to send in quarterly sales taxes, and the business has an address and zip code.  At the very least they could determine how much is collected by zip code fairly easy.

I said modern computer system because the other day -- I forget whether it was in a radio or tv news story about the subject -- someone claimed that the county could not distinguish how much sales tax was raised from each of the municipalities that make up the county.

I agree with what you are saying -- the information is there.  I just think it is another example of someone giving an excuse for government NOT DOING what would actually make sense to begin with.

Of course, that is a LIE, he makes sure he reads them, YES, he HAS responded, on some rare occasions, to some of the comments - thus the EVIDENCE that these names are NOT on his "permanent ignore."

But the reason why DV does not respond to these names is because these  names have provide the PROOF, the DOCUMENTATION, the EVIDENCE of that there is NO RENAISSANCE in the city.

DV simply CANNOT address the issues in an intelligent way.

ANY NORMAL INTELLIGENT EDUCATED ADULT, when discussing the city, MOST DEFINITELY would address the connection of how the dems are spending the taxpayers money in a totally uncontrolled way and none of it has helped the city.

ANY NORMAL INTELLIGENT EDUCATED ADULT, when discussing the city, MOST DEFINITELY would address the connection between the dem spending is the cause of the drastic reduction in the city's tax base, and the FACT (substantiated with overwhelming EVIDENCE) that the downtown projects done by the city dems, the countty dems, and metroplex have resulted in people fleeing (or at least trying to flee) the city in droves, no one wants to buy a house in the city, home values plummeting, taxes going sky high, and NONE of the promises made by the dems have come true as far as improving the city.  The places where the people live are becoming war zones, the school turns out a bunch of juveniles, and the financially struggling homeowners are paying not only their own taxes but the taxes of that $25 MILLION palace with a gold ceiling while Morris illegally get's STAR exemptions

DV DOES read these, he just is totally speechless to answer, he is not man enough to address the DIRECT CONNECTION between taxpyaer money spent on downtown which is NOT helping the tax base, etc.

So he PRETENDS that we are on ignore

Mikechristine1, I notice in your reply to DemocraticVoiceOfReason, that you make a reference to DV. In others posts, I have noticed that DV has been referred to as Ron. Am I to understand that in fact this is the same person? If so, what power does this person have? Why does he seem to be inside everyone's head? Is he a shaman with great powers? A warlock? I am quite intrigued by all of this. I feel so in the dark.
