$27,778 per youth to participate in this program?

What is the track record for NE?

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

$27,778 is enough money to send them to SUNY for 4 years, or enough to send several to SCCC.

That's not a lot.

We currently pay over $225,000 per student to Schenectady public schools for 13 years.

Obviously with inflation it will likely be over a million by the time today's kindergartners graduate.

Dollars are the new Pesos.

all that money and the city schools still can only graduate 60%. Wonder what the stats are for NE Parent? I know some folks who work at ne parent and they have some pretty hair raising stories that would make one think that the stats ain't so good.

Schenectady spends more per student, than a student would have to pay to go to Bishop Gibbons, or CBA.
Those schools don't even bother to talk about graduation rates, they talk about college acceptance rates. which is over 90%.

We need a voucher system.

Pretty sure both catholic schools do not have lifetime healthcare benefits for teachers and admin, lucrative pensions and 2.8% yearly salary increases for teachers like at Schenectady City Schools.

That's right - public school teachers 'do it for the kids'.

Good thing Metroplex has Northeast on its wish list to receive ANOTHER $5 million in State money...I mean for the 11 jobs this YouthBuild will create and the 36 youths it will aid, another $5 million is very much required.

Energy jobs? In Schenectady? lol!  This is all about padding the administration of NE Parent. They already
took a huge building off the Downtown tax rolls on Lafayette Street. Forced a high tech company to relocate.
Track record? Good for taking buildings off City tax rolls and attracting troubled youth from all over.

Keep the implosion going.
