"1985
The latest push is for the City of Schenectady to contribute to Proctor's - $200,000 this year, to help pay off it's debt of nearly $500,000, and $50,000 each year thereafter. The rationale is that because Proctor's brings in millions of dollars of added commerce to the city, it's worth the money."http://news.google.com/newspap.....7s-theater&hl=en |

Sure, back in the 70's/80's it was a volunteer non-profit with nice modest priced shows. Today is is the same as any for-profit Broadway theater PLUS it is getting lavish amounts of money from the fancy banquet hall for the rich, and all the other places that rent in there, and it's CEO makes an insane amount of money yet ILLEGALLY takes a STAR exemption

| Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies. |

So after all of these decades.......proctors still can't sustain itself and neither can the businesses that were built around it! The taxpayers are shouldering the tax burden! |
| When the INSANE are running the ASYLUM In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule. -- Friedrich Nietzsche “How fortunate for those in power that people never think.” Adolph Hitler |
