How else is the County going to afford the $60 million nursing home? By taking the money from the City!

Perazzo...she now "understands and votes yes on the proposal"...what a dolt! Get a clue, realize you have a choice and stop drinking the kool aid!

Corruption disguised as a vote.

So.....if I was a Schenectady County resident I would be asking Gardner why he allowed Schectady City to get so much money locked in for another 8 years........They shouldnt be allowing such "generosity" to occur!

In another significant vote Monday night, City Council voted not to lay off five employees, with Porterfield, Erikson and Vincent Riggi saying there wasn't enough information provided to show why the positions in question were being cut.

Gardner made the case for you.  He said the city has barely grown since 1988 in terms of sales tax revenue, which is why the property taxes are outrageous.  Just open your tax bill, isn't that enough evidence the jobs need to be cut?

I agree, however, this administration has proven to be squirelly.  I could see them cutting essential non union service jobs and keeping non essential union service jobs.  Without knowing what the jobs were there is no way to judge the votes.   The mayor is sticking with his buddies and will not make the tough decisions.  He is running out of time and will be breaking some of these handshake deals soon.  He will have no choice or will be thrown out of there.

Gardner still needs to explain why by his own words he is being so generous to the city.  I think it is a crock and fear mongering!

I have never seen a group of people sell out their constituents so fast in my life. Jason knows the deal b/c he used to work at the county and knows the numbers far more than the

PoliticalPygmy Hughes.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

The other thing is that the sales tax has grown and the county has taken that money and wasted it on patronage jobs, retroactrive raises for fat cats, and increased welfare expenditures to buy democrap votes. The city of finished. I expect to see about a 50% property tax increase over the next couple of years and that of course only applies to those who are not exempt from paying taxes (fat cats and crony partners of Gardner, etc)

The property tax cannot increase 50% in the next couple of years.  It just cant and even the dems know it.  They are doing a big squeeze as a last attempt to keep the machine running but it is really just a death rattle.  The State Audit will set us free.

why can't it? Just the corrected roll will reflect a 20% once all the grievances are settled!

Your correct.  Grieving will almost be necessary to survive.  The hit will be hard either way but those who grieve will minimize the hit.    Time to get in line.

Word of the shared County wide reassessment are scaring me...

Indeed, Mr. Cuthbert is a traitorous backstabbing nayboob who is obviously there in order to sow dissent and misinformation among the citizens that DEPEND on an honest voice such as the Mayor's.  People will NOT pay attention to what is an obvious nayboob charade.
