Schenectady is a diverse city.  It's very liberal... It has a nice blend of shootings, stabbings, and even simple assaults.  There is no prejudice toward any particular weapon in Schenectady.

SCHENECTADY — A man reportedly involved in a fight Thursday night on State Street has died, police said.

Harold Gotti, 43, of Schenectady, died at Ellis Hospital after he was found by police shortly after 9 p.m. in the area of 1255 State St. between Division and North Elm streets, police said.

Gotti was the victim of what police characterized as a "possible assault." But police have yet to rule his death a homicide.

Lt. Mark McCracken, a police spokesman, said Gotti did not appear to have any knife or gunshot wounds.

"The cause of death is unknown at this point," he said.

McCracken said he believed the initial police call came in from a passerby who reported to 911 that two men were involved in a fight with another man.

An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.

An unfortunate incident among private parties is NOT indicative of any crime spree.

Yes.  Schenectady just has a grossly disproportionate number of "private parties" that have "incidents".

More renaissance news. And the word that the poor victim attacked by two thugs has now died. This is common in every NE City and no reason to suspect murder nor gang activity. Hamilton Hill has exploded across State and now moving towards Central Park.

There is NO way the spd will ever get this cancer under control. The scum are winning....hands down!!! They have the guns, the knifes and the balls to do whatever they want and have to do.....more balls than the dimwits running the city....and it's spreading. Nisky is on the decline as well as rottendam and even scotia. Ya can't contain this crap!!

suggestions......
vote the dimwits OUT
abolish the spd and bring in the state police
abolish the county leg and adopt a board of supervisors
abolish the failed METROPLEX/GILLEN
lower the welfare benefits

........no more playing monopoly.......this is real life folks........its time (overtime) to get serious!!!

DV aka Glry, the BIG CHICKEN will NOT respond.   Gee, DV, when a guy entered KFC IN DOWNTOWN a year or so ago, IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, about 4:30 p.m., tell us, was that merely an "unfortunate incident between private parties?

DV aka Glry, the BIG CHICKEN will NOT respond.   Gee, DV, when a guy entered, what was it--Cornells, and robbed them at gunpoint, tell us, was that merely an "unfortunate incident between private parties when neither the employee nor the gunman knew each other?

DV aka Glry, the BIG CHICKEN will NOT respond.   Gee, DV, when drive-by shootings occur in broad daylight IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS, such that schools must be on lockdown, I guess since the shooter is trying to shoot a particular person and the shooter THINKS that the particular person lives in a certain place, etc,  but some innocent bystander is killed, oh well, it was really an "unfortunate incident" intended to be "between private parties" and oh well, some innocent bystander got killed, but that's NOT a crime spree, right?

Cluck cluck cluck,, the BIG CHICKEN won't answer.

Gee, if ALL of us on these boards start with the cluck cluck at DV and challenge him to directly answer the questions, he's totally leave these boards because he will be too embarrased, too chicken to respond to anyone.   He REFUSES to respond to my questions because I challenge him too much, I request EVIDENCE and he cannot provide one teeny weeny shred of EVIDENCE of anything he says.
