I went to Lyle's subs on Erie Blvd today and they said that the roundabout was in fact canceled.

I asked if they were getting any business from the construction crews and they said maybe 1 or 2 people a day.

They were depressed at the conditions around them, to say the least.

But on the brighter side, the parking meters are gone due to the demolition.

When I said that, nobody believed me.

But hey, they got rid of the adult bookstore.  Good premise, eh?

They didn't get rid of it, they gave him a brand new building on lower Broadway.

Was this move supposed to neutralize the impending effect of the County busting through the property tax cap?

Are you referring to the move to cancel the roundabout to nowhere that they obviously can't afford, and certainly don't have a need for?

Roundabouts are used for intersections. What could they have been thinking?

Perhaps they were figuring people exiting 890 would come down the boulevard and turn left to get to Scotia?

A roundabout already exists for that purpose. It's called the 890 exit to Scotia.

The folks who don't live in SCUMnectady think the roundabout is a joke....both financially and in theory.

So what exactly did the city cut?

I have a legitimate question that I can't find the answer to:  How is the city budget going to reduce the home values?

As taxes go up more than surrounding areas, the home value goes down because it's less desirable to purchase a home in the city.

Reduced city services also cause home values to go down.

Just a start to answer your question
