St Helen's SERVES students from the city -- always has. The school campus is a mere 1000 or so feet from the city line. You know that --- Everyone knows that.
And for your info, DV, the charter schools in Albany SERVE students from the city of Schenectady. Schenectady kids can go there, I'm familiar with some that go to Brighter Choice, but there is no transportation. It's common that parents take their kids there via CDTA bus and then parent comes home via bus, then goes back to Albany on the bus to pick up their kid. Not common for Schenectady kids to go to Albany, but it does happen.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
Transportation is provided for up to 5.5 miles so most can be bused to St Helen's...if you live in Bellvue near the rotterdamn border it might be iffy...haven't checked the exact mileage myself. Only about half of the city is eligible for transportation to Saint Madeleine Sophie.
Paying taxes and tuition is very difficult---and while we are far from rich, we are not poor either. Based on graduation rates for Schenectady I figure it's cheaper than supporting them their whole lives.
