My condolences to his family.

While I can't recall ever having eaten pizza there, I do recall stopping for lunch several times a number of years ago and having a sub there and on at least one occasion a stromboli.  He was very friendly and the food was excellent.

Liar, liar, liar!

The Pizza king stated emphatically that he never wanted to sell any sandwiches or other foods. Just pizza.

Here, you can hear the pizza king in his own words stating that he never wanted to sell anything but pizza:

Apology accepted.  Yes, he was a nice man.  And I must add that once he was forced to move from State Street to Jay Street -- I found that it wasn't as easy or convenient to park and stop into his shop*.  His shop was one of the few places that was worth a trip into downtown to patronize. **

* [That is one of the problems downtown, it is not as easy to park and patronize businesses as it once was.  It was one thing when I worked downtown and walked to places.  But now, it is - sad to say - just easier to drive to places in Rotterdam or Niskayuna or Glenville -- park near the door and walk in.]

** [No offense to people who like Mexican food or Subway or Thai food or going to a bar.  But I can get Mexican food, visit a Subway shop, get a hair cut, get an expensive cup of coffee, get Thai food or visit a bar a lot easier in Rotterdam or Niskayuna or Glenville without the hassle of driving and parking downtown.]

Actually, I think it was a little easier to patronize his shop once they moved, just they were in a much slower traffic area.  The free parking lots were just behind him, including the one that could be used for center city and the ones on the corner of Franklin St. and Jay St.  It wasn't as much of a foot-traffic friendly location, even being right across the street from City Hall.

Pizza King set to reopen Thursday
Pizza King in Schenectady will reopen after a death in the family caused the Jay Street shop to close down for nearly six weeks.
The pizzeria will open Thursday under regular hours, said owner Joyce Camaj.
The family-owned shop was closed to mourn its late owner, Djovalin “Jon” Camaj, who committed suicide in August.
He ran the store with his wife and children since 1988. He was forced to relocate the shop four years ago from State Street to 122 Jay St.
Pizza King is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

I didn't think they were going to reopen, that's great that his wife will continue on with it.
