Threats in some instances do constitute a crime. Did these FB statements constitute a crime? I don't know. Do you? Were there other actions that led the police to this person other than his FB page? I don't know. Do you? Are the police contemplating charging him with a crime pending the outcome of his psych evaluation? I don't know. Do you?
The one thing missing from this story is the F A C T S. But lack of facts don't seem to be a problem for a good conspiracy story!

I'll wait for the facts. As of today... he hasn't been charged with a crime... and if he is mentally ill, he probably won't be. If all that is involved is a few FB posts, and none are illegal threats, then this board may have gotten it right. If there is more to the story than is known today... and crimes have been committed, then the board is wrong. If his psych evaluation shows that he is a danger to himself or to society, then I appreciate that he was taken into custody BEFORE he did harm to himself or others.
Either way... Before I decide what is or is not... I need to have the FACTS. As of today... this story is long on rhetoric and short on facts.

Everybody wants the FACTS. They haven't been released. Where is the documentation of the medical evaluation that justified the 30 day detainment? Law enforcement detaining people based on arbitrary and very subjective psychological evaluations is scarier than being detained on false charges. They are questioning a man's sanity based on facebook posts.

" They are questioning a man's sanity based on facebook posts". NOPE! They detained a man based on his FB posts ( and possibly other information) but his sanity is determined separate from any criminal investigation.

Nope. Not in my opinion.
Sometimes speaking your mind IS illegal. The "I WILL KILL YOU" phrase, can be a legitimate threat and be illegal. When we know the FACTS of this case, we might be able to make an informed opinion on the case.

...and as long as the "authorities" keep everybody in the dark and transport him 3 hours away from his family and attorney, we will wait patiently until the government decides to fully disclose why he has been detained. Until then, we should thank the government for taking away 30 days of this Americans life in the name of protecting us from him.
