Then when the vets protested, the military turned on their own - BECAUSE THEY WERE ORDERED.

Cicero's hate for anything military is obvious, but it blinds him to the facts...

A few points for Cicero to read and (hopefully, but doubtfully) learn from.

The US Military removed FORCEFULLY 20,000 angry veterans... and not one veteran or one soldier died in the
event.
Teargas, bricks, sticks, swords... this was no granny's sit in, but a confrontation between 20,000 seasoned
veterans and the might of the US Military... and a few bruises and a few stitches on both sides, but not
one death.

What does that tell you Cicero??? Did you learn anything?  Anything besides your pre rehearsed agenda?

Only box can defend what nobody else would defend.  Most see this as an atrocity and blemish in American history.  The federal government ordered the military to disband dissidence, and to boot, dissident vets that were screwed out of money promised by the government that ordered them to risk their lives in a European war.

No agenda box, not hatred toward military men.  There are a lot military men I respect, like Brandon Baum and Adam Kokesh, and many of the others, I feel sorry for.

I'm just referencing historical facts Box. The Bonus March proves that military fraternity is no match for the authority that orders you to violently turn on your fraternal brothers.

WOW.......Can't even believe what I'm reading here!!! The fact of the matter is...........the vietnam vets were used and abused and lied to by their own government!! Just as they are today. Even the vets know that!!!

Were you there?
Are you speaking for all of us?
Maybe you shouldn't lump everyone into a category becuase of discussions you may have had with some....what about the others? I was there, obviously you weren't. I knew what we were there for and what we were doing. I haven't uncovered one thing the Government lied to me about. I wasn't used and not abused....so please, before you lump everyone into your category, qualify it. For you to speak for me without knowing me or what I'm about or what I expereienced is not welcomed. Just another Viet vet baby killer bashing as far as I'm concerned, just like in the 60's and 70's. I don't speak for all the Viet vets...just myself.

So were you there defending America from imminent danger presented by the advancing armies of North Vietnam, or defending the South Vietnamese?  Were you defending the Constitution or following the orders of a President?  Was it a declared war or undeclared war?

I'm not calling anybody a "baby killer".  A killer, yes, that's what soldiers do.  There is no hatred toward any soldiers that was indoctrinated and followed their orders.  What boggles my mind are the people that were in these wars that now have the perspective of hindsight and still support and make excuses for this crooked government that clearly caused death and destruction becuase of the greedy men controlling our government.

I would answer but you would just never understand, so think whatever you want....I'm very comfortable with myself and my past. I am just uncomfortable with people that have no clue lumping others together, when I am one of those others and don't fit their personal thought mold. Besides, you have already said youdon't want to enter into intelligent discussion, so I won't waste my time trying to explain anything.

Well you shouldn't be comfortable.

You took part in the Viet Namese massacre.

The invasion was wrong and that's why we lost it.

Mission failed!

It wasn't a war.

Don't claim that you fought in a war.

It was an attack.

The US entered and killed anything that they felt was a threat.

You wore the colors.

You share the guilt of the likes of Lt Calley.

I feel comfortable being a proud spitter on those who returned.

The oath is to defend the Constitution.

Not the commander in chief.

Well you shouldn't be comfortable. I'm very comfortable and proud of my service.
You took part in the Viet Namese massacre. I was not part of any such thing...you are ill informed.
The invasion was wrong and that's why we lost it. What "INVASION"...have yo ubeen listening to Cicero....that is a real stupid statement.
Mission failed! I will only say that not all mission goals were achieved.
It wasn't a war. You and others branded it that way...we who were there called it a conflict, as did the US Government.
Don't claim that you fought in a war. Read above...you're repeating yourself.
It was an attack. An attack; and invasion; a war....can't decide, can you...DUH!!!!
The US entered and killed anything that they felt was a threat.  WOW  that is one powerful statement.....NOT!!!!!
You wore the colors. PROUDLY
You share the guilt of the likes of Lt Calley. Another stupid statement trying lump anyone who fought in Nam as a Calley clone.....
I feel comfortable being a proud spitter on those who returned. I'm sure you do...typical of stupid people. See below how to identify me...I welcome having you introduce yourself, and I wil lintroduce myself in return.
The oath is to defend the Constitution. DUH!!  And how did you/do you do that
Not the commander in chief.

You sir are an arrogant a**hole if you feel you are almighty and can sit in judgement of me or anyone else. I would like to express this in more detailed terms, but will respect the forum. I am, mor than comfortable and proud of my service. Ask the South Vietnamese soldiers that fought alongside of me if they appreciated my presence and that of all the other service people (who by the way, were more thnan just Americans). Just one last point...you would be hard pressed to see anywhere that I said we "won" or referred to it in those type of terms (won, lost).

Next time I'm out and about I'll wear my shirt and hat proudly displaying my Vietnam Veteran service embrodery...stop and introduce yourself.....I look forward to it.  Will be white golf shirt with blue embroidery USMC VIETNAM VETERAN and same on black hat....look for me.

PS - You should remove CHRIST from your signature, as you are clearly without true faith as you do not follow or practice any of the teachings of the church (based on reading your posts).

Cicero's contempt for anything military is more showing with every post.  But when the $hit hits the fan
Ciceo will be right up there on the front lines... but behind Joe and I and any other vet... Oh and behind
the police, the national guard, behind the Fire and local police... Cic  will be right up there behind the old
old ladies in wheel chairs, behind the lame the blind and the weak... Standing there in the last row... ready
to defend his country... Unless he can get a deferment of course.

Only box can defend what nobody else would defend.

Cicero has no doubt seen National guard, state and local police go up against strikers... It's usually a bloody
affair and often leaves strikers dead... but 20,000 vets were physically removed from their location and not
one died.  Why is that Cic?  Why do you think that happened?
A few kids were protesting at a Occupy movement march and police bloodied many and seriously injured a few
but the US Military moved 20,000 and not one died on either side.  Why?  Both groups had just returned from
combat... both groups knew how to do it... both groups had the ability to inflict many deaths... but none
happened.  Why Cic?
Cic will never understand that one.

Don't ya love it when THEY tell you what it was like in Vietnam and tell you that YOU are wrong... that's not
the way it happened.  THEY know... they read about it in the newspaper.

Many of his posts show a total lack of understanding of how the military operates, or what it means to
be in the military.I think it distorts many of his posts and lead him to some mistaken opinions.
Many of his rants are so off factual thought, I just ignore them.

Based on this post, do you also believe you have to be a Catholic Priest to understand how the Catholic Church operates?  I guess you can't comment on Church child abuse if you are not a Priest.  That makes sense.

You would need to be a priest in the Vatican to fully understanding the inner workings of the Catholic Church (which is what I think you are referring to). Anyone should be able to comment that child abuse from a priest or anyone else is pure sick demented and wrong, and they should burn in hell for those violations of children.

Yes, turning on their fellow soldiers that were being screwed out of promised money by the same government paying their salaries.  The military violently turned their weapons on not only the citizens of their country, but also their fellow veterans.  But don't fear the government power, that could never happen.  Nahhhhh...Anybody that thinks that is a conspiracy nut.  To think that this won't happen again when the economy crashes and those entitlement checks stop being issue, you are fooling yourself.

Just don't comment on the murder committed by the military against innocent men, women and children.  You have to be in the military to truly understand why that murder is just and ok.

NOPE!  But I wouldn't try to tell a Catholic Priest what it's like to BE a Catholic priest unless I had much
more experience in that field.

Your comments on the US military?
~ There is no hatred toward any soldiers that was indoctrinated and followed their orders.
You seem to comment from a personal view, when you weren't within 10,000 miles from the event. Yet
you are telling Joe and I what we did... As Indoctrinated soldiers following orders!

More from Cic:
There are a lot military men I respect, like Brandon Baum
Really?  What is it that you respect about this Marine? Not his services to his country.  You respect that he
was arrested for ranting against the govt?  Yea... that figures.

And more:
If I recall, you are former military...For being a tough soldier boy,
Soldier boy??? Really Cic?  Again you say you don't hold any hostility toward the US military yet the
term you used for a man who put his life on the line for you (even if you don't deserve it) is "soldier boy"?
Again... if you treat your dad with such disrespect, I understand why he never explained his experience to
you.
