"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

How many times must a bar, ..., have issues, inside or outside with idiots with guns, fights or disturbances before the SPD and administration shut them down?  Get rid of the places for these undesirables to congregate, you'll eliminate a good portion of the violence.  Alcohol and drugs - they make people do crazy things.  .

The cops are at Clinton's Ditch much more often than Joes Tavern.

You make your statement as if to say that bars should be illegal based on what neighborhood they are in.

People who sell drugs generally are willing to commit acts of violence to ply their trade - the potential for violence existed before they went to prison.

Not true at all.

They aren't willing to commit violence to ply their trade. They are willing to commit violence to defend themselves from the butchers and murderous gangsters created by the life imprisonment for being an unlicensed drug salesperson laws.

Licensed drug dealers don't shoot people.

Keeping them unlicensed does.

Cops, kids, passerby's.

The illegality and aggressive enforcement are the causes of the violence.

Physics, violence in equals violence out.

Schenectady offers one of the highest qualities of life in the region. Anyone else who says differently is simply full of doggy doo.

Did the town super tell him to stop swearing?   So now he uses more mild terminology

How many on duty officers were on duty in that sector? How many responded and what was the time to response? Was there any foot patrols in Mt Pleasant?  Was the shooter wanted or being investigated for other issues?  A person just doesn't turn violent - one night decides to go into a bar and shoot someone. There had to be a history of violence with this person. Was the gun registered? Was the shooter apprehended?  How about the victim? Did he give a statement? (I'd bet not, people are afraid to talk to 5-O).  Has this been turned over to state Liquor Authority?

How many times must a bar, in a un-disputablly rough neighborhood, have issues, inside or outside with idiots with guns, fights or disturbances before the SPD and administration shut them down?  Get rid of the places for these undesirables to congregate, you'll eliminate a good portion of the violence.  Alcohol and drugs - they make people do crazy things.  Bring in good housing, good jobs (not bartenders, waitresses and deep fry cooks - you'll clear up the problem FAST.

How many people have to get shot, stabbed or killed before you, and the rest of your officers, admit there's a problem - and FIND a solution to the problem.  Bring in the state PD, Liquor Authority, Sheriff's - you clearly are outnumbered and IMHO, unprepared.

Proof of my statements above:

SCHENECTADY — A 23-year-old man was struck by gunfire near a Fifth Avenue bar early Saturday, police said.

The man, who police declined to identify, was wounded in his "midsection" near Joe's Bar at around 3:15 a.m. and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center Hospital, police said in a statement Saturday.

"There are not any suspects in custody related to the shooting," police said. The victim's medical condition was unknown, police said.

Police responded to a call for shots fired near 1306 Fifth Ave., around the same bar in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood where Rashad Robinson, 23, was shot and killed Nov. 12. U.S. Marshals announced an arrest in that case Friday. Rodney Davis, 22, was charged with second-degree murder.

Those questioned at the site of Saturday's shooting did not provide much information, police said. Eyewitnesses are asked to contact police.

The nayboobs tend to make much ado about nothing. Stupid and idiotic people commit crimes in EVERY city. It is hardly indicative of a crime spree or a trend --- and furthermore the City is undergoing a renaissance that will silence the most vociferous critics once upcoming major announcements are made. SOME work is required to bring the City BACK from the brink that the GOP sent it to, but there is hardly a reason to panic.

Oh, people get killed and that's just fine.   CHILDREN get KILLED in daylight on a playground, and that's just fine because "crime happens everywhere" so it's "much ado about nothing" when it comes to Schenectady.

And what is being done to it back from the brink that Stratton left it and McC followed those few months - $5 MILLION in the hole?????

And how about the HUGE $77 MILLION loss of the tax base from last year to this year but Ronnie of the Rott Plng Cmte says there's no reason to panic
Homeowners are losing their homes due to inability to afford to pay the taxes of the downtown millionaires, but Ronnie of the Rott Plng Cmte says there's no reason to panic
The city learned of the HUGE $5 deficit ending last year, and HAS DONE NOTHING WHATSOEVER to rein in spending this year, yet, for a SMALL example, they budgeted just a mere $75,000 to give tax refunds resulting from the tax certorari lawsuits and the FACT is that ONE refund alone exceeds the total budgeted, and there are dozens more that have to be refunded!!!!   So, the city is in even a deeper financial hole, but Ronnie of the Rott Plng cmte says "no reason to panic"

He's been babbling for a couple years about a "major announcements" being made.   Oh YES, there are MANY MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!!

The city is in VERY VERY VERY DEEP DOO DOO from last year and the city has done NOTHING to make cuts this year yet.

Another MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT was the city was about out of money (having only $75,000 in reserves).

Another MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT was the HUGE $77 MILLION LOSS of the tax base in the city thanks to the wild spending of the dems

Another MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT is imminent when the number of vacant properties increases overnight when many houses actually get to the end of the tax seizure foreclosure process, the financially struggling homeowners lose their homes, and that in turn reduces other's property values even more.

Just wait for the MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT when it is made known that the McC's taxpayers subsidized bus tours are found to NOT be resulting in houses getting sold.   Remember, the FACTS are there - the houses on the tours are STILL LISTED FOR SALE!!!!!!!

The more DV and his imaginary friends post these stupid comments, the more FACTS (with supporting documentation from official records) are presented disproving everything he says/writes/posts.

Cicero - it's a waste of time to talk about legalizing drugs.  Fortunately, politicians have enough sense not to make heorin and cocaine legal for citizens.  there is a clear difference between hards drugs and alcohol.  That's not to say the govermental policy needs to adjust em of their methods re: policy.  But, it's an irresponsible to make those two drugs as accessible as a bottle of beer.

Hack - I don't know how to respond to anyone who does not think drugs and violence are related.  If there is money form the illicit market then conflicts over market share and robberies of drug proceeds create violence.  if you don't know that you should not even enter a discussion about the illict drug market
