Money.

Knock down all of downtown, put up a track in it's place.    Schenectady will thrive beyond it's wildest dreams WITHOUT A PENNY FROM HANDOUTS from the taxpayers (via city/co/plex, etc)

Just imagine the clothing stores and souvenir stuff

There's JZ and Tony.   Gosh I wish she won

What a draw a track would be.   But I'm talking a regular NASCAR track.   But even the sprints, does anyone have a clue how Knoxville thrives on one week of the year with the nationals.  WOW

Too bad the wuss' in the city would have a problem with being on the map and probably eliminating any local property taxes.   And they could still even have the Glendale Palace

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

AMEN !

Just so everyone knows, we do NOT trying to speak negative of downtown.   We speak negative of the huge financial burden (for the cost of fixing up downtown) forcibly imposed on financially struggling homeowners with the every increasing taxes (and the burdens on renters who pay unbearable rents in the city).

STOP the spending of taxpayer money on downtown.    No more taxpayer subsidized loans, no more low interest loans, no more handouts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The homeowners who are forced to pay for downtown do NOT get help from the city/co/plex with subsidized loans, low interest loans, or handouts to fix up their homes, not even for ordered repairs because of code violations.

So downtown revitalization can by done with the developers and business owners spending EXCLUSIVELY THEIR OWN money and take out loans themselves the normal way and with the same higher interest rates that homeowners must pay.    If they can't get loans, then tough sh*t.

Cheers for the revitalization of downtown - EXCLUSIVELY AT PRIVATE EXPENSE !!!

END the tax exemptions on downtown properties NOW !!!!

END the taxpayer subsidized loans to downtown NOW !!!!

END the taxpayer handouts to downtown NOW !!!!

Sad that this is only a pipe dream

GE will be a "brown field" EPA site for the next few centuries, if it can ever be brought back at all.

There's stuff buried there you don't even want to know about.

You can't bury Schenectady in the aquifer.

The neighbors will complain.

Schenectady is where Saratoga takes it's crap....or leaves it's crap....however, it's perceived
